From Changing the World to Cashing In: What Happened to Meghan’s Ambitions?

The Montecito Twos have had quite an eventful week – from Meghan debuting her podcast, releasing her music, and selling her pancake mix kits (which I prefer to refer to as ‘flour’).

Next, Harry soared towards London aboard Air Angry, preparing to show up at the Royal Courts of Justice, marking another phase in his legal conflict with the Home Office and RAVEC, a UK government agency tasked with safeguarding royalty and other high-profile individuals.

The discussion revolves around the appropriate amount of taxpayer-funded protection for his personal safety during visits to the UK, following his resignation as a senior royal in 2020 and relocation overseas.

On both sides of the Atlantic, each Sussex separately served up some major drama – as ever.

In her “Confessions of a Female Founder” podcast, Meghan shared that she experienced postpartum preeclampsia following the birth of one of her kids.

She didn’t say which one because that is like, you know, super-duper majorly private.

Either it could be, or it might serve as a valuable, unrevealed cache of personal data, ready for public dissemination at a later time to generate attention, financial gains, or emotional support.

Plus, is there any way she can blame Kate? Asking for a friend who is even more cynical than I am.

Indeed, it’s a harrowing experience for any mother, more so when, as Meghan shared in her podcast, the world remained unaware of the situation at hand.

In London, we were given a startling new perspective on Megxit.

Disregard the phrasing used by Prince Harry in 2020 when he referred to their move to America as an “exciting new chapter” on Instagram.

In the past, he and Meghan felt ready to adapt since they received encouragement and support from the public.

This week, I had the opportunity to share a distinct perspective on the unfolding events, and I, as one of their advocates, asserted that the decisions made by Harry and his wife were not choices they casually made, but rather necessities compelled by their unique circumstances.

You may have previously perceived Harry and Meghan as merely disgruntled young adults, grumbling about not getting their preferred tiaras or choosing prime country estates.

Perhaps I could empathize with a duo of refugees, escaping the oppressive grasp of wealth and privileges they were born into.

But now we are being told that they never wanted to leave at all!

Regardless of the chaos and craziness that marked their lives, the solution had always been present right here, and so forth . . . la la la.

Lawyers representing the Prince stated in court that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex believed they had no other choice but to relinquish their positions as senior working royals, as they felt the royal institution was not providing them with adequate protection.

As an ardent fan, I can’t help but echo Harry’s sentiments when his barrister, Shaheed Fatima KC, declared he had been ‘marked out’ for unequal treatment. It seems this tale of alleged unfairness has become a recurring theme in Harry’s life, as he so poignantly puts it.

In a written statement presented by Robert Palmer KC on behalf of the Home Office, it was stated that the Duke did not show the required level of respect towards the Home Secretary and RAVEC during the lengthy court proceedings.

It’s not surprising to me that this doesn’t shock anyone. For over five years now, accusations of arrogance and bullying have trailed the Duke and Duchess of Sussex like an unpleasant odor. These claims are consistently refuted by the couple, but they do seem to hint, at the very least, a recurring behavioral pattern.

Or perhaps they just assume a status in private that is misunderstood by those who work for them.

Indeed, the reporters observed an irritated instance in court where it appeared that Harry grew frustrated, causing him to toss aside his writing instrument in exasperation.

Next, he grabbed the item once more to compose a detailed sticky note, which he then forwarded to his attorney, Ms. Fatima.

I believe it might have gone something like this: ‘This is just nonsense, make these know-it-alls and troublemakers leave me alone and give me protection, guys. They need to stop bothering my bald brother, I cherished my Gan-Gan dearly but what about me? Show some respect for once or Megz will go crazy.’

As for me and my undying admiration for Meghan, I couldn’t help but notice that during my groundbreaking chat with Whitney Wolfe Herd on the premiere of my fabulous girlboss podcast, I found myself subtly discussing none other than Meghan herself! The irony was not lost on me as I delved deeper into a captivating conversation about female empowerment.

Anticipation filled me as I eagerly awaited it! Indeed, Miss Herd, aged 35, stands out as an exceptional individual. She played a pivotal role in the creation of the dating app Tinder, then moved on to establish another dating app, Bumble, and amassed a self-made billionaire’s fortune during her journey.

She appears to be incredibly resilient and intelligent, yet none of it seemed apparent during this empty conversation, led by the Duchess who seems to lack substance.

Instead of appearing as if they were basking in their individual uniqueness, it seemed more like two female business leaders genuinely aiming to empower and support other women on their journey to success in the professional realm.

Meghan continued talking at length about being “overwhelmed by wrapping, packing, and unpacking” as she readied her ordinary yet appealingly packaged As Ever food line for its debut.

Whitney advised that entrepreneurs should consider unconventional ideas, which proved helpful. Furthermore, the CEO of Bumble emphasized the importance for businesswomen to break through distractions, show their vulnerability, and embrace their unique qualities. In simpler terms, she suggested they think creatively, speak up amidst competition, and express their authentic selves.

In the peaceful community of Montecito, these ladies often referred to each other as ‘dear friend’ and shared tales of their swift friendship, despite having only recently met. Meghan remarked, “She is among my most treasured friends,” to which another replied, “I have no doubt.

Thus, this is our current situation. About five years back, it was speculated that Meghan and Harry were forced into a sort of self-imposed exile. However, they reemerged as a dynamic duo, committed to transforming the world and uplifting countless lives in the process.

There are still glimmers of their kindly potential and global goodness.

Following his visit to London, Prince Harry ventured on to Ukraine, where he engaged with both military service members and civilians who had been injured. This interaction was an extension of his continuous efforts in aiding wounded veterans and organizing the Invictus Games.

In my professional opinion, it appears he’s truly shining at his best, yet occasionally, his selfless nature can get overshadowed amidst the flurry of flower confetti, star-studded events, and heated discussions about personal entourages. I often find myself pondering, how did we arrive at this point?

Camilla’s Arctic reality check

Could it be that Camilla Hempleman-Adams’ eagerness got the better of her, causing her not to announce her latest accomplishment immediately?

As a devoted explorer, I traversed an astounding 150 miles of the frosty expanse that is Baffin Island, located within the Arctic Circle. My journey was primarily on foot and by ski, with a sled in tow. The temperatures dipped as low as a bone-chilling -40 degrees Celsius.

Her journey lasted for two weeks, and bravo, Camilla! However, her boastful assertion that she became the first woman to embark on a solo journey across Canada’s biggest island sparked anger among members of the indigenous Inuit community.

Apart from pointing out her perceived “arrogance and lack of knowledge” about the matter, they also mentioned that the local women have been navigating this route for many years, even during harsher conditions or while expecting, emphasizing its trivial nature to them.

Is Camilla merely perceived as a self-centered, daring explorer, given that she is the offspring of renowned explorer Sir David Hempleman-Adams, and does she seem to believe everything revolves around her?

Is she guilty of ignorant and racist behaviour? Or is she merely guilty of overstating her case?

If she’d called herself the first British woman to embark on this journey, it could have passed muster, more or less.

Although First Posh Nepo Baby From Wiltshire would have been more accurate.

It’s time to stop the Carnival carnage

Last year, Cher Maximen, aged 32, found herself embroiled in a brawl involving several men while out with her friends and daughter during the Notting Hill Carnival.

In a tragic turn of events, Cher was unintentionally caught up in a violent incident, getting stabbed in her presence. Unfortunately, despite the best efforts of medical professionals, she passed away six days later at the hospital.

On a Wednesday at The Old Bailey, the 20-year-old named Shakeil Thibou was found guilty of murdering someone. His sentencing will take place at a future time.

Yet another tragic instance of a knife attack in our city, adding another stain to the festivities of the Carnival. When do we see Mayor Sadiq Khan taking action on these matters?

It’s regrettable that the Carnival continues to take place within a residential neighborhood, when it could instead be held in a park with measures such as knife archways, controlled entrances and exits, and secure perimeters, thus avoiding the annual chaos that occurs.

In a marked difference, the Met Police portrayed Cher as a nurturing mother who attended the event for a relaxed day filled with companionship from friends and her little girl. On the other hand, Shakeil Thibou was depicted by them as not going to Carnival to join in the festivities, but rather to stir up violence.

‘Why else would he have arrived armed with a large knife and seeking confrontation?’

Why indeed? Don’t bother asking the mayor. He doesn’t have any answers at all.

Are you thinking what she’s thinking?

Queen Camilla expresses that a key ingredient for a contented marriage is cultivating friendship, sharing joyful moments, and navigating life together. It’s certainly wonderful to hear such sentiments.

During this week’s official visit in Rome, she and King Charles appeared exceptionally joyful side by side – a testament to their enduring happiness, despite the passage of time.

The nature of their relationship has often been challenging, and some people may never pardon them for the perceived betrayal regarding Princess Diana. It’s possible that Princes William and Harry might also be included in this group.

As time goes by, it’s increasingly clear that they were destined to be a pair from the start. Should we continue to hold them accountable for their past mistakes?

Liz defies nature at 60

On this fine day, the sun is out, birds are chirping, and it seems Elizabeth Hurley has shared a picture of herself in a swimsuit.

What further sign do you need that spring has well and truly arrived?

Liz donned a bikini from her personal Beach collection, the Paradise line (priced at £150), while she playfully ran across the sandy beachfront.

She remarked, “The most stunning sunset I’ve seen is here in the beautiful Maldives,” as she basked in the sun’s warmth and took a moment to relax after an exhausting vacation in Jaipur.

Liz will be 60 years old in June but, wow, she looks incredible.

She continues to be an unstoppable power of individual determination, serving as proof that dedication, regular physical activity, and the consumption of five raisins daily can lead to remarkable results.
