The rumors grew stronger after the actress from The White Lotus was seen at Jeff Bezos’s wedding to Lauren Sanchez in Venice in June.
Jenna Ortega, who recently turned heads in a white Stella McCartney dress at the Savannah Film Festival, has finally spoken about rumors linking her to the role of the next James Bond.
When asked about the rumors in an interview with Variety, a leading entertainment industry magazine, she seemed hesitant to share much.
“I’m not sure,” she admitted after a moment. “I don’t really follow all the James Bond gossip, but I’ve always loved the movies and I’m really interested to see where they take the series next. It would have to be a great script, though.”
The actress then added, perhaps only half in jest: ‘I think I’d have more fun as James Bond.’
According to a source involved in the film, Sydney is the leading candidate to play the next James Bond. Director Denis Villeneuve reportedly thinks she’s a very talented actress who would also attract a younger audience – something the franchise needs to stay current.
They’ve spent a lot of time together, and he’s always been impressed by her quick success. She’s also physically fit and capable of doing action scenes, while still embodying the classic, glamorous style of a Bond Girl.
Jeff and MacKenzie Scott have reportedly provided initial funding for a new private equity venture that will help Colleen Sweeney start a lingerie company in the near future.
According to a source who spoke with US Weekly, this project has been a major undertaking for her, and she’s dedicated the past year to it.
The lingerie line is being backed by Ben Schwerin, a partner at private equity firm Coatue.
Bezos and Michael Dell recently invested £770 million in the company through their Coatue Innovation Fund.
Now that Amazon owns the James Bond films, they’re still searching for a new actor to play 007, following Daniel Craig’s run as the iconic spy from 2008 to 2021.
Despite rumors, neither Aaron Taylor-Johnson nor Henry Cavill will be the next James Bond. An actor who isn’t currently well-known has been chosen for the role.
Instead of selecting a well-known British actor, director Villeneuve is said to be looking for someone new and relatively unknown to take on the role of James Bond.
