From an abusive father to romantic heartbreak, Jelena Dokic is finally getting the love she deserves – as details emerge about her new handsome boyfriend

After her breakup with her long-term partner Tin Bikic in 2021, Jelena Dokic has managed to find love once more, overcoming the emotional turmoil that left her feeling broken.

The tennis champ, 42, revealed last year she was ‘closed off’ after the heartbreaking experience.

The incident was yet another painful setback for her, coming after decades of mistreatment by her father, Damir Dokic.

But things are looking up for Jelena.

Yane Veselinov and an Australian sports commentator have made their relationship official, as they shared a heartwarming Instagram post on Monday.

For the first time, they were noticed affectionately holding each other at Melbourne Airport in May. Jelena couldn’t help but smile broadly while receiving a warm hug from Yane.

Taking a look at Yane’s digital trail suggests that he moved to Melbourne, having resided in Sydney and Perth prior to that.

Like Jelena, Yane is from the Balkans and is Macedonian.

Apart from his parents, he also has siblings – a brother named Vladimir and a sister called Mihaela. Currently, his mother, Dragica, resides in Skopje, the capital city of North Macedonia.

Last year towards the end, Yane officially became an Australian citizen, a fact he shared enthusiastically on his social media on November 14th, accompanied by a festive message.

In his writing, he committed today to upholding every law and honoring the political and democratic perspectives of our wonderful nation.

Let me express my sincere gratitude to Australia, as I proudly embrace being an honest and self-reliant Australian. Australia has provided me with the finest experiences, making it officially true that I am an Aussie!

In simpler terms, the person that Jelena is newly in love with holds the position of a Hospitality Operations Manager, and they are skilled at crafting unforgettable experiences and ensuring seamless event coordination.

Based on his LinkedIn profile, Yane has served as the Operations Manager for Wine and Cheese Fest starting from November 2018.

Prior to this, he spent eight months working as an Events Manager at Food & Desire, followed by a one-year tenure at The Malthouse Theatre, from 2021 to 2022.

In addition, Yane served as both a Marketing Consultant at Numero IX between the years 2020 and 2021, and as a Managing Partner at Casual Dining Concepts from 2015 to 2018, which are based in Sydney.

His initial job in Australia was serving as the Events Manager at Portofinos Restaurant and Function Centre in Perth, a position he held from 2011 to 2015.

Yane’s Instagram showcases an array of images, including various dishes, visits to art galleries, and concert events across Melbourne.

He also appears to have a love of tennis, attending the Australian Open in 2020.

He states in his bio he is a ‘food and wine enthusiast’, ‘pleasure seeker’, and ‘life enjoyer’.

Jelena went Instagram official with Yane on Monday.

The sports commentator posted a heartwarming picture of the couple on social media, accompanied by a touching message.

Jelena couldn’t help but rave about her new boyfriend, expressing: “You are my serene, secure, tranquil, joyful haven. So grateful I discovered you.

Within a short timeframe, Yane posted the image on his Instagram Stories, adding the caption “Mine all” and a string of heart emojis as well.

The couple were first spotted together at Melbourne Airport back in May.

Jelena was spotted leaving her plane with a wide smile, happily receiving a hearty hug from her bearded companion upon arrival at the terminal.

Towards the end of last year, Jelena shared that she had become less receptive to romantic relationships following her separation from her long-term partner, Tin.

For nearly 19 years, the pair had been a couple. However, they announced in the year 2021 that they had decided to part ways and end their relationship.

As a die-hard fan, I can’t help but share my feelings about this revelation from Jelena. Despite building walls around herself all these years, she bravely confessed on Instagram that she is petrified at the thought of facing eternity alone.

Loving sentiments, I’ve been going through a hard time on a personal level. A subject that often gets overlooked is the emotional toll of broken relationships – it’s truly difficult,” she shared, along with a self-portrait.

If you’ve found yourself wounded or deserted, let’s face it, such experiences can be truly devastating. As time passes and we grow older, these wounds seem to multiply, leaving behind deeper scars, more profound pain, and lingering hurt.

Four years have passed since my 19-year long relationship concluded, but the affection we hold for one another endures, given our shared history dating back to when we were both twenty. However, that particular phase of our lives has come to an end.

Jelena further expressed that she is naturally inclined to give her heart completely, and with unwavering devotion, a level of love that sometimes lands her in tricky situations.

She continued, “It became a mixture of sorrow and agony,” she explained. “Four years back, I built barriers around me, swearing they would remain standing.

However, just as life often teaches us, our plans and expectations don’t always come to fruition. Consequently, the walls came crumbling down, and I sustained significant injuries in the process.

‘In essence, the dilemma is this: Should we maintain our defenses and wait for love to find us, or should we close ourselves off completely and avoid any chances of love?’

Some individuals may arrive at diverse conclusions. For four years, I’ve found myself isolated and introspective, yet I remain uncertain about the solution I seek.

The Australian tennis commentator expressed that she grapples with significant emotional challenges stemming from her past, such as a deep fear of being left and an overwhelming sense of perpetual loneliness.

Instead, Jelena discussed the terrible mistreatment she endured from her father and tennis instructor, who was named Damir.

In a frank exchange with her followers, the media figure openly wondered if anyone else shares her fear of spending the remainder of their life solo.

In a long letter, Jelena expressed that tearing down walls unexpectedly surfaced emotions and responses she hadn’t felt before, leaving her unsure of how to act or what action to take.

Essentially, the situation is challenging, and we’re left with two options: should we isolate ourselves permanently or risk being hurt and endure pain with the hope of experiencing profound, extraordinary love once more?

Jelena ended her searching questions by saying she had come down on the side of hope and openness.

She declared her determination to persevere, expressing hope that someday those barriers would crumble once more. Perhaps the time spent waiting, feeling pain, hurt, and disillusionment will prove valuable, leading her to discover a profound and wondrous love.

Without a doubt, it appears that Jelena’s extraordinary love has surfaced, coinciding with the harmonious alignment of other elements in her life.

After retiring from professional tennis in 2014, the ex-athlete slipped out of the limelight. However, a few years down the line, she made a comeback and achieved the same level of success in the media.

In a short span of time, she rose to prominence as a recognized voice in tennis analysis, securing a position with Fox Sports during the Australian Open in January 2017.

That very same year, she released her memoir titled “Unbreakable,” which detailed her life, professional journey, and the prolonged period of physical and emotional torment inflicted upon her by her father.

I was absolutely ecstatic when my all-time favorite author’s latest masterpiece topped the Australian book charts on its very first day of release. The anticipation had been building for months, and finally holding that book in my hands was an indescribable feeling! Then, as if the universe itself was conspiring to make this moment even more unforgettable, a documentary film about her life was released in 2024. I couldn’t believe it – every detail of her incredible journey was laid bare for all fans like me to marvel at and be inspired by!

2023 saw her releasing yet another captivating book titled “Fearless: Embracing Strength to Flourish.” This work, like her previous ones, narrates her journey through hardships such as poverty, trauma, and domestic abuse.

Jelena is now a commentator and expert analyst for Channel Nine at Wimbledon.

Apart from posting updates about it, she’s been openly discussing her 10-month weight loss experience (20 kg) with her followers, having fought an eating disorder for nearly two decades prior to this.
