The previous CEO and managing director of Domino’s, Don Meij, has decided to sell his luxurious penthouse in Brisbane.
Instead of explicitly stating the asking price, the 56-year-old owner of the luxurious four-bedroom, four-bathroom property purchased for $12.95 million in 2023, is inviting potential buyers to submit their best offers.
Perched atop the premium high-rise complex, ‘Luminare’, in the vibrant district of Newstead, approximately 3 km from the Central Business District, this stunning 588 sq.m residence offers exclusive amenities such as a personal swimming pool, fitness center, and sauna.
In 2024, Meij, having vacated his CEO position at Domino’s, has decided to move to Dallas, Texas, within the United States, to establish a fresh venture in the food sector.
As a committed follower, I’d like to share that Meij and his spouse, Jenny, were hesitant to part with their Australian abode, yet the prospect of prolonged stays in Australia post-move seemed improbable for them.
Considering the fact that you’ll likely reside abroad for about 48 to 50 weeks annually, it doesn’t seem reasonable to keep [the item],” he expressed to The Courier Mail.

Located near the Brisbane River, the Luminare building boasts resort-like facilities such as a sauna, barbecue area, and a versatile meeting room suitable for both business meetings and dinner events.
Nestled high above the cityscape, Meij’s apartment sits on the 25th floor, providing breathtaking vistas of the urban skyline as well as the surrounding countryside.
The building has been strategically arranged to maximize its tall position, offering floor-to-ceiling glass windows and an expansive, open-concept design layout.
The property boasts a balcony and outdoor pool area connected to the main living area, and the master bedroom offers an expansive walk-in closet and wardrobe.
There’s a rumpus room, pool table, wet bar and a private office.
The cutting-edge kitchen stands out as well, complete with a butler’s pantry, countertops made of stone, and a breakfast bar.
In 1987, Meij embarked on his journey in the pizza industry, starting off as a delivery personnel. Over time and with determination, he climbed up the corporate ladder, eventually taking charge of Domino’s Pizza operations in Australia.
In May 2005, Meij guided Domino’s Pizza towards its status as Australia’s initial pizza chain to go public on the Australian Stock Exchange.

He celebrated 30 years with the company in 2017.
In November last year, he announced his resignation after almost 40 years.
Meij said the decision was not easy, but it was the right time for the company.
‘Domino’s really has been my life,’ he said.
Initially taking on the role of a delivery driver in Redcliffe, Queensland, I wouldn’t have thought it possible that I would eventually lead a worldwide corporation boasting over $4 billion in annual sales as its CEO.
‘I leave knowing that the business is well positioned for an exciting new chapter.’
In 2005, when Domino’s went public on the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX), they boasted 387 outlets and annual sales of approximately $300 million. Fast-forward to today, and their store count has skyrocketed to around 3700, with a staggering annual revenue of roughly $4 billion.
