Liam and Noel Gallagher, the famous brothers behind the Britpop band Oasis, started their Australian tour with an energetic and exciting performance on Friday night.
Oh my god, I was THERE! Oasis played at Marvel Stadium in Melbourne, and it was insane! Seriously, over 55,000 of us were absolutely screaming for them. It was the first of three nights – all completely sold out, of course! – and it was just… everything. I can’t even begin to describe the energy. It was the first time seeing them live, and I’ll never forget it.
During their performance of “Champagne Supernova,” the famous brothers were surprised when a fan ignited flares in the audience.
Oh my god, I’ve watched the videos a million times, and it’s just… haunting. You can see this intense red light right on the nosebleeds section, and then, someone just launched a flare right into the fans! It was terrifying, honestly. I keep replaying it, trying to understand how something like that could even happen.
It fell to the floor in the middle of the crowded, energetic crowd, glowing brightly and causing people to try and move back.
Despite the disturbance, Liam, 53, and Noel, 58, continued their performance. After finishing a song, the younger brother, Liam, did mention the disruptive behavior.

He playfully scolded the person who misbehaved, wagging his finger and saying, “That wasn’t nice!” before continuing with the performance.
However, according to one attendee, Noel ‘looked worried’ about the incident.
Witness Virginia described to news.com.au that each flash of light appeared like a fire, but was quickly brought under control.
I was with my thirteen-year-old daughter, and when that happened, I immediately worried and decided we should leave before the song finished to get outside.
My husband noticed Noel Gallagher seemed concerned. Then, Liam playfully wagged his finger at him and jokingly said, “naughty, naughty.”
Honestly, it was incredibly crowded – much more so than at events like football or cricket matches where you at least have a little room to breathe. It was a bit worrying, and I really hope everyone made it through okay. Seeing that many people packed into one space is always a concern, and I just want to make sure people prioritized their safety and wellbeing.
Many other fans went to Reddit to criticize the person who set off a flare and tossed it into the crowd.
Someone expressed outrage that a person’s face was burned, calling the act terrible and hoping the perpetrator is arrested and prohibited from performing at events.

Setting off a flare is one thing, but throwing it into a crowd is completely different – and awful. Hopefully, nobody was injured,” someone else commented.
‘I really don’t see what fun people get out of doing stuff like that,’ wrote a third.
Someone else commented that they didn’t mind smoke bombs or flares being lit, but throwing them at people was a really disrespectful and awful thing to do.
‘What kind of f***in a***ole does that in a crowded stadium?’ one user commented.
Daily Mail has reached out to Marvel Stadium for comment.
Oasis is returning to Melbourne for shows on Saturday and Tuesday before continuing their tour in New South Wales. They’re expected to play popular songs like ‘Wonderwall’.
The performances in Sydney will be held at Accor Stadium next Friday and Saturday, November 7th and 8th.
It is the first time the band has toured the country since 2005.
The band is incredibly popular in Australia. Two of their albums topped the ARIA chart, and their song “Wonderwall” was the number one hit in 1996.
The band surprised fans last year by announcing they were getting back together. This marked their first reunion since 2009, and came after brothers Noel and Liam Gallagher resolved a years-long disagreement.
