The sitcom The Comeback, starring Lisa Kudrow, is returning for a third season, and a trailer has just been released! It’s a major comeback for the show itself, as it hasn’t been on air for twelve years.
The comedy series features Jennifer Aniston, known for her role in Friends, as Valerie Cherish, a once-famous actress trying to revive her career with a new television show. The show is presented as a documentary, using a ‘found footage’ style.
The show first launched in 2005, came back in 2014, and now, after a lengthy development period, its third and final season will premiere in the US on March 22nd.

We don’t have a release date yet, but a trailer is available. It shows Valerie starring in the new sitcom, How’s That?!, and she’s surprised to learn the entire series was written by AI.
I was so excited to learn that Lisa Kudrow didn’t just star in the show, she actually created it with Michael Patrick King! He’s the genius behind Sex and the City and And Just Like That…, so knowing those two were working together from the start makes the show even better. They weren’t just the creators though – they were both executive producers too, which is amazing!

Critics generally liked The Comeback throughout its run. The first season earned a 63% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes based on 19 reviews, but the second season was even more popular, receiving an 86% rating from 35 reviews.
The second season of the show proved divisive, with some viewers finding Valerie’s struggles and self-defense too difficult to watch. However, publications like Grantland noted that many viewers wanted to see those moments, and IndieWire praised the season as dark, challenging, and intelligent.
I’m so glad everyone’s loving the second season of The Comeback as much as I am! AwardsWatch put it perfectly – it’s actually better than the first season, which I didn’t think was possible. They called it a masterclass, and honestly, that’s exactly what it is. It’s heartbreaking, hilarious, and doesn’t shy away from anything – it’s just brilliant.

Valerie used to be stuck on a TV comedy she disliked, but now she’s leading a new show about that very sitcom. The Daily Telegraph praised the concept as ‘brilliant,’ and The Boston Globe described it as ‘brilliantly painful.’
While a UK release date hasn’t been announced yet, the new season is expected to be available on HBO Max when it launches in the UK on March 26th. When it does arrive, it will be alongside the popular show Friends, which will be one of the first programs available on the service.
The Comeback season 3 premieres in the US on 22 March.
The latest issue of Living Legends, a vibrant, full-color magazine celebrating Taylor Swift, is now available! You can find it in newsagents or order it online for only £8.99.
