The official regional league for Free Fire in the Middle East and North Africa, the Free Fire World Series (FFWS) MENA 2026 Spring, has begun. Garena is organizing the event. This year, the Middle East & Africa (MEA) region is splitting into two separate areas: the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), and the Africa region.
The game is clearly prioritizing a consistent schedule, and its strong support for the esports community is already noticeable – it feels more dedicated to competitive play than most other games. It’s keeping players and fans consistently updated with everything they need. Let’s put those broader observations aside and focus on the event itself.
Free Fire World Series (FFWS) MENA 2026 Spring: Schedule and Format
The event will happen in three parts. First, the Prelims start on April 24th and include all participating teams. These teams will be split into three groups of six, playing a total of 18 matches over six days. Each team will face every other team in their group, resulting in 12 matches per team. The ten highest-performing teams from the Prelims will then move on to the League Stage.
The first stage of the competition begins on May 1st, with the same groups and team sizes as before. Over three weeks, the groups will change each week. Teams will play each other in a round-robin style, resulting in a total of 48 matches spread over nine days of competition.
The top 12 teams will compete in the grand finals on May 23rd and 24th. The first six matches will be played using the Points Rush format, and the final eight matches will determine the overall champion. The team earning the most points throughout the event will be crowned the winner.
Prize Pool
The total prize money is a solid $50,000, which will be distributed among the participating teams. The winning team will receive the largest share, with the remaining prize money split among the other teams.
