- The update brings the new character Nero, Flame Arena, new Winchester weapon, multiple balance adjustments, and more.
Garena has announced that the latest update for Free Fire, OB51, will be released on October 29th. This update includes a new character, a new weapon, changes to existing characters, new game modes like Flame Arena and Craftland, weapon adjustments, exciting events, and other improvements. Let’s take a closer look!
Free Fire OB51 update: Key Highlights
Introducing Nero, the latest Character
This update introduces Nero, an incredible character who survived a deadly freeze and now has the power to control dreams. His special ability, Dreamsmith, lets you create an area that stops enemies from using Gloo Walls and continuously damages anyone inside, pushing them into the open. He can also deliver a burst of extra damage, stun opponents, and even knock them to the ground when needed.

Okay, so Cryo Mind is seriously cool! You basically get to chuck this adorable, super-soft plushie – it has 150 HP! – and it just keeps going for 12 seconds, totally ignoring walls or anything in its path. It flies a really long distance, finds the closest enemy, and then boom – creates this awesome, dreamy area. It’s a really fun ability!
Within this area, neither you nor your opponents can deploy Gloo Walls, and enemies will continuously lose health. The area vanishes when your plushie is defeated, but it briefly highlights whoever destroyed it.
Flame Arena
Okay, so they just dropped this awesome new mode called Flame Arena! Basically, when you jump into Battle Royale now, you get randomly assigned a team banner that shows up in the sky. It’s like, ‘You’re on THIS team, now go fight for them!’ And here’s the cool part: if you and your team manage to knock out everyone else flying a different banner, their banner gets destroyed in the sky. It’s a really fun way to add some team pride to the game!

I really appreciate the new in-game announcer who calls out important moments, like when a team is knocked out. Also, the game will switch from the Out-of-Zone area to a Flame Zone later on, and the Flame Trophy will appear in the sky with the remaining team banners circling it.
In Clash Squad, both teams will get randomly chosen banners. When a team reaches match point, special features like the Flame Zone and Flame Trophy will activate. Plus, you’ll enjoy updates like a new CS Store themed around the Flame Arena, a redesigned spawn area, special Cyber Airdrops, and a new Booyah animation with a flame effect.
Character Adjustments in Free Fire OB51 update
The latest Free Fire update, OB51, includes changes to several popular characters. Ford’s healing abilities have been reduced with adjustments to his Iron Will skill. Kairos will now deal slightly less damage to shields and armor due to changes to his Defense Breaker skill. On the other hand, Rin’s Kunai are getting a boost, with increased launch speed and damage.
New Weapon, Adjustments, and more in Free Fire OB51 update
New Weapon: Winchester
This update includes the Winchester, a new Marksman Rifle. It’s designed for long-distance fights, offering both good movement and a two-round burst firing mode. Reloading is done partially, allowing you to add multiple bullets at a time, and you can improve the Winchester’s damage and other stats using Upgrade Chips.

Optimization for Upgradeable weapons
The new update includes changes to weapons. Upgradeable weapons will now have two ways to improve: by increasing damage or by adding chips. We’ve also tweaked how strong weapons are and where their power comes from. Players will be able to upgrade the M60, FAMAS, M14, M4A1, SCAR, AUG, MAC10, MP5, M1014, and Kar98k.
HP Loss after Knockdown Adjustment
We’ve made some adjustments to how long you lose health after being knocked down. The duration now depends on the weapon used, making fights more balanced and fair for everyone. We also increased movement speed while crawling when knocked, but equipping Rafael won’t change the amount of health you lose.
Weapon Balance Adjustments
The Parafal rifle is now more powerful and has improved accuracy. Plus, the Thompson SMG will now appear in airdrops, and its upgraded version, the Thompson-X, is also available to find in the game.
Several popular weapons, including the SCAR and SCAR-1, are getting improvements. However, the Mini Uzi pistol is being slightly weakened to create a fairer playing field. The next update will make the Mini Uzi a bit more difficult to control.
Battle Royale and Map Adjustments in Free Fire OB51 update
Battle Royale Updates
- Loot Distribution Adjustments: They’re being adjusted so that everyone can enjoy steady gear growth instead of finding top-tier gear too quickly. You can find various changes in Air Drops, War Chests, Vending Machine, Revival Weapon, and other loot distribution stuff via the official post.
- Advanced Revival Point: The new Advanced Revival Point will now provide you the benefits of the Super Revival Card, also including treasure chests with extra rewards.
- Upgradable Arsenal: You can soon get even better loot by spending coins to upgrade the arsenal. Plus, both standard and Defense Arsenals are upgradable.

- Waypoint Feature: A new waypoint feature is coming with this patch, which will add a route-marking option on the mini-map. It lets you set up three waypoints.
- Weapon Rack: From this update onwards, fixed Weapon racks are available in every area.
- Gloo Mushroom: By interacting with the new Gloo Mushroom, you can rapidly increase your Gloo Wall regeneration speed.
- Gloo UAV-Lite: You can now use the new Gloo UAV-Lite to increase the durability of your walls, making them harder to break.
Map Changes
The Solara map, which was added in our recent anniversary update, has been tweaked based on player feedback. Changes include new tent designs with two entrances, redesigned areas on high ground, and adjustments to slide rail speed in the CS mode Hub, among other improvements.
We’ve also made several other improvements, including more precise landings with the Launch Pad, removed the Hitmarker setting from the information menu, and better feedback when you land a headshot. There are also updates to the CS Store, price changes, improvements to Lone Wolf mode, and other fixes. For a complete list, please see the official announcement.
