Garena has announced its plans for Free Fire esports through 2026. Starting this year, they’re making big changes to their tournaments, including increasing the number of participating teams from 18 to 24. They’re also adding a new tournament specifically for the Clash Squad mode, along with two major international competitions, and other improvements.

Two major international events anchor Free Fire’s competitive esports calendar

The 2026 Free Fire esports season will center around two major international tournaments: the Free Fire event at the 2026 Esports World Cup and the Free Fire World Series (FFWS) Global Finals. Additionally, the FFWS Southeast Asia tournament will continue to be the most important competition in the region.

This year, the Free Fire World Series Global Finals is getting bigger! We’re increasing the number of competing teams to 24, which means more regions will have a shot at the championship. The event will take place in Bangkok, starting on November 6, 2026, and will span four weekends.

Free Fire makes its return to the Esports World Cup with higher stakes

They’re also heading back to the Esports World Cup in Riyadh, where 24 teams, including the 2025 champion EVOS Esports, will compete on July 15th and 16th. Here’s the current list of participating teams, and more will be announced soon.

  • Southeast Asia: 8 Teams
  • Brazil: 3 Teams
  • Latin America: 2 Teams
  • Bangladesh: 2 Teams
  • United States, Pakistan, Nepal, and the Middle East and Africa (MEA): 1 Team each.

So, the best part about this event is that the winner earns direct ticket to the FFWS Global Finals.
