Freddie Mercury’s Shocking Diaries Reveal His Secret Life
An unauthorized book about Freddie Mercury, containing revelations from a hidden collection of 17 diaries, is set for release towards the end of this year.
The journals that Freddie Mercury wrote from 1976 to 1991, the year of his death, will show ‘an aspect of Freddie you didn’t know existed’, as stated by author Lesley-Ann Jones, who received the notebooks from a friend of the rock legend three years ago.
Previously known for penning biographies of musical icons like John Lennon, Christine McVie, and Paul McCartney, Jones promises this new work will delve into the ‘troubling’ aspects of Freddie Mercury’s childhood, his personal reflections on being diagnosed with HIV, and his heartfelt affection for Mary. This diary entry, made only weeks before his passing, serves as the final chapter.
The project is kept confidential and is released without the involvement of the deceased singer’s estate, nor his former girlfriend Mary Austin, who was included as a beneficiary in his will.
I’m excited to share that the book “Love, Freddie” is set for publication in September, honoring what would have been his 79th birthday. As a dedicated follower, I can’t wait to delve into this literary tribute to our beloved figure.
Previously known for penning biographies of John Lennon, Christine McVie, and Paul McCartney, Jones claims that the upcoming work will disclose disturbing aspects from Freddie’s early life, his honest reflections on receiving an HIV diagnosis, as well as his profound affection for Mary. The final diary entry was penned only weeks before his passing.
As a dedicated enthusiast sharing insights, let me clarify something about Freddie Mercury’s life: While many believe his portrayal in Bohemian Rhapsody to be accurate, my personal findings suggest that his secret life was far more extraordinary than what’s depicted on screen. The truth, as I uncovered, deviates significantly from the account presented in the movie.
In 2021, following the publication of her book, “Love Of My Life,” about a well-known singer, she was contacted by a close friend of the star who felt strongly that it was high time for Freddie to express himself.
He has 17 personal journals that span the years from 1976 to 1991. Unlike a traditional diary with daily entries, these aren’t chronological records. Instead, they contain much reflection and discussion about his music.

She remarked, ‘There’s a great deal in there concerning Freddie’s past that he rarely spoke of. Reading his diaries, it doesn’t come as a shock to me. His childhood was truly traumatic, filled with events he never managed to move past. Furthermore, his struggle after being diagnosed HIV positive is something he discusses openly.’
From 1970 to 1975, Freddie Mercury was in a relationship with Mary Austin, but he also pursued relationships with men such as hairdresser Jim Hutton and manager Paul Prenter during this time. Eventually, Paul Prenter was dismissed from his position due to him revealing Freddie’s frequent encounters with casual partners while on tour.
In simpler terms, Jones stated that the upcoming book aims to reestablish Mary Austin’s proper place in history. It is believed that she has been misunderstood and misjudged. Mary Austin was not just a lover but held a significant role in his life as well, which will be further revealed upon the release of the book.
‘Freddie’s Love offers a deeply personal insight into Freddie’s life, serving as his most authentic biography. In 1991, the world may not have been prepared to embrace him fully; however, today, we find ourselves equipped and ready for such an intimate portrayal.’
In 1970, Freddie Mercury co-founded the band Queen alongside Brian May and Roger Taylor, penning numerous of their most iconic songs such as “Bohemian Rhapsody” and “Crazy Little Thing Called Love.”
(This sentence maintains the same information as the original but uses simpler language for easier comprehension.)
He died from AIDS-related pneumonia after revealing that he had the condition, in 1991.
After White Lotus, Sam chases the girl of his dreams
Lilah Pate, star of The Outer Banks, is the girl of Sam Nivola’s dreams… on screen at least.
At the moment, this duo is filming a movie that revolves around teenage romance, with some reports describing it as a fusion of “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off” and “Risky Business,” right here in North Carolina.
In the upcoming movie titled “Driver’s Ed,” set for release in 2026, 21-year-old actor Nivola assumes the role of Jeremy, a high school student who embarks on an adventurous road trip with his friends. The goal? To find Samantha, portrayed by Pate, after they’ve stolen the Driver’s Ed (learner) car from their school. Notably, this film is Bobby Farrelly’s directorial project, renowned for his work on Kingpin and Dumb And Dumber. This will mark Nivola’s debut as a leading character in a movie.
Nivola, the offspring of actress Emily Mortimer and her thespian spouse Alessandro Nivola, has been attracting attention following his portrayal of the kind-hearted character Lochlan Ratliff in the third season of The White Lotus, which wrapped up this week.
He resides in New York alongside his partner, Iris Apatow (the daughter of filmmaker Judd), and has admitted that since the acclaim of The White Lotus, he’s been getting recognized on the streets, an experience that makes him feel uneasy.
This week, he shared with Variety magazine that he’s been in North Carolina for a month filming a movie, which kept him separated from many things.
Upon my return to New York over a fleeting weekend for a photoshoot, I found myself celebrating St. Patrick’s Day with my dear companion. However, our evening had to be cut short as I was repeatedly approached by strangers while out on the streets.
For the very first time in my entire life, an event such as this has occurred. And it’s truly fascinating to encounter strangers who appreciate your work sufficiently to spare moments from their own day just to express their admiration to you.
‘It’s so moving, and really lovely.
However, there’s something unsettling about it regarding privacy. The other day, I was on an airplane taking a nap, but someone disturbed me for a photo-op. To me, that felt intrusive.

Angels out of the Asylum
It seems unlikely that the troubled movie “Angels In The Asylum” will ever be finished, given that the production company responsible for it has filed for bankruptcy protection (administration).
The film, set in the 1930s and featuring women believed to be typhoid carriers detained at Surrey’s Long Grove Asylum, featured Minnie Driver as its main actress.
It was about halfway through filming when work halted, leaving up to 150 crew out of pocket.
Beatles reunion at Cannes
This upcoming year’s Cannes festival is set to shine brightly, as it will host none other than Robert De Niro and Tom Cruise on the famous Boulevard de la Croisette.
On May 13, De Niro will receive a special Palme d’Or award. The next day, May 14, Tom Cruise’s Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning will make its debut, screening outside of competition.
Additionally featured at the festival are the movies “Eddington” starring Emma Stone and “The Phoenician Scheme,” a production by Wes Anderson.
Paul Mescal, portraying Paul McCartney, and Harris Dickinson as John Lennon are expected to reunite on screen, marking a simulated Beatles reunion for the duo within Sam Mendes’s forthcoming Fab Four films.
Mescal is set to attend the Cannes Film Festival with the romantic First World War drama titled “The History of Sound.” Additionally, he will also present “Urchin,” a film about homelessness that he both wrote and directed.
How sex bomb Tom and Mary stayed friends
The two-year romantic involvement between Tom Jones and Mary Wilson, a member of the Supremes, is a well-known tale in the realm of show business – notably the story about his wife Linda’s warning that she would take drastic action against her husband if the relationship persisted.
After Linda’s passing due to lung cancer in 2016, Jones and Wilson were able to renew their emotional bond and friendship, a significant relationship for the two of them.
Or, more casually:
Following Linda’s demise from lung cancer in 2016, Jones and Wilson managed to rebuild their emotional connection and friendship, which meant a lot to both of them.
According to Wilson’s daughter, Turkessa, they had a deep affection for one another and this love persisted throughout their lives, right up until the day she sadly passed away. They remained close friends all along.
In 1968, Jones, who had previously encountered Wilson, reached out to the family over the phone to express sympathy following Wilson’s unexpected passing at her residence in Nevada in 2021.
Turkessa mentioned that he contacted them upon her passing, and he turned out to be an exceptional person. They conversed, and he showed genuine affection.
In conversations, Wilson shared that she was deeply in love with Jones, who tied the knot with Linda when she was only 16 and expecting their child, Mark. She expressed deep sadness upon their breakup, feeling that Jones was the one whom she believed to be her soulmate.
Despite frequent rumors to the contrary, Jones consistently asserted that any romantic entanglements he may have experienced were fleeting, while Linda held a special, enduring place in his heart as the genuine passion of his existence.
At the unveiling of The Hollywood Museum’s Black History Month display titled “This Joint Is Jumpin – A Tribute to Black Entertainers in Film, Television, and Music,” Turkessa expressed that her mom successfully coped with her sorrow.
As a lifestyle guide, I’d put it this way: Initially, she realized their relationship wasn’t feasible due to his marital status. It was a hurdle she couldn’t overcome. Subsequently, she chose to marry my father, but that union didn’t last. She bore three children from the marriage, and looking back, she had no regrets about her decisions. Her life was vibrant and fulfilling, relishing each moment along the way.
Earlier this week, it became known that Sir Tom plans to share his life experiences with the BBC as a celebration for his upcoming 85th birthday. This conversation is slated to air on BBC One’s “In My Own Words” series.

The bromance that’s bigger than Barbie
Despite negative reviews from critics, the reason behind the extraordinary box-office performance of a Minecraft movie is still a mystery. On its debut weekend, it outperformed Barbie at the box office and seems poised to earn over $1 billion. This success story continues to unfold.
Absolutely, the enthusiasts of the video game have significantly contributed to the movie’s success. This is evident in the playful antics (which might seem puzzling to adults), such as yelling out during mentions of “chicken jockey” and even throwing objects like eggs at the screen (as was observed at my local cinema).
In his opinion, Director Jared Hess finds the friendship between Jack Black’s character Steve and Jason Momoa, along with Black’s intense acting approach, to be particularly noteworthy.
Hess explained: “Jack plays every scene with immense enthusiasm. During filming, it felt like saying: ‘You know what, Jack? Let’s add a bit more zest there.’ And he always takes things to an elevated level. That dedication in such a ludicrous setting is a significant part of the comedy’s energy.

Now that’s a jammy move by Meghan!
Couldn’t this be charming? Noted influencer Amanda Hirsch, who expressed delight over Meghan’s ‘As ever’ preserve, has recently joined the roster of talent agency WME, which also manages… the Duchess of Sussex.
In January, Hirsch, host of the Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast, expressed concern about Meghan’s lifestyle show “With Love, Meghan,” as she found the Duchess’s appearance to be less genuine.
Later, Meghan wrote a letter to her, assuring there was no need for concern, and she excitedly posted about it on her social media platforms.
Last week, it was made public that she had struck a deal with WME. The day after, she received a gift package containing jam and tea from Meghan, which brought immense delight. ‘First a letter now her jam!?! Could we be best friends soon? Should I relocate to Montecito???’

Glen runs straight to Tom for a bit of advice
Glen Powell’s bond with Tom Cruise continues unabated. Powell revealed that his friend and guide was the initial person he approached when offered the lead role in The Running Man, a movie adaptation based on Stephen King’s dystopian novel about a man pursued by killers for 30 days as part of a lethal game show.
Tom Cruise is well-known for his running sequences in action films (as seen here in Mission Impossible – Dead Reckoning), and there’s a rumor that the longer the running time in any Tom Cruise movie, the better its rating on Rotten Tomatoes. When Powell was initially cast, Cruise was his first contact. He said: “Record yourself running as soon as you can. You’re not as cool as you believe you are.
In addition, I engaged in conversation with others, and here’s an interesting tidbit: when you converse with movie running coaches, they often mention that there’s just one thespian who masters screen running exceptionally well. That would be none other than Tom Cruise.
Powell remarked, “I don’t aim to be like Tom Cruise, but I picked up a lot of techniques from him about executing an action film effectively.
The novel has previously been made into a film in 1987, starring Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Taxi!
As a fervent admirer of Jimmy Carr, I can’t help but share his latest pet news! You might already know that Marnie is his beloved rescue dog. But when it comes to his new English Toy Terrier puppy, he opted for an unconventional moniker – Taxi! Yes, you heard it right. And let me tell you, this name seems perfect to me. Why? Well, imagine you’re in the park and need to call your dog. With a name like Taxi, you won’t sound like a lunatic shouting for attention, right? It’s just another quirky choice that makes Jimmy Carr endearing!
