Freddie Flintoff to reboot classic gameshow for ITV

As a lifelong fan of Bullseye, I couldn’t be more thrilled about its return to our screens this Christmas! The iconic gameshow has been a staple of my childhood memories, and I can hardly believe that the charismatic Freddie Flintoff will now be at the helm.

Bullseye is returning to UK screens with Freddie Flintoff as its new host.

The famous game show, hosted by the late comedian Jim Bowen and broadcast on ITV from 1981 to 1995, is making a comeback this Christmas as a special edition by the network.

Confirmed: Flintoff will front the unique special, where various squads made up of an untrained dart thrower and a trivia expert will join forces to claim cash awards and prizes.

As a child, “darts” and the show “Bullseye” were among my favorites, and it’s hard for me to believe that I’ll be hosting a Christmas special for it now. There’s just nothing quite like a bit of Bully, Flintoff expressed in his statement.

Katie Rawcliffe, head of entertainment and daytime programming at ITV, stated: “We’re thrilled to bring ‘Bullseye’ back, and we’re equally excited to have Freddie Flintoff return to ITV as well.

“It’s a real treat to have both as key parts of our Christmas schedule on ITV1 and ITVX this year.”

In other news, Flintoff recently opened up about the nightmares he has suffered since his crash.

In 2022, a star from Top Gear was admitted to the hospital following a car accident during filming for the BBC series. Consequently, the network decided to halt production on the current season.

On his BBC program Freddie Flintoff’s Field of Dreams, the ex-cricket star opened up about the lingering impact of the accident, stating: “I believed I could easily brush it aside. I wished to brush it off and declare, ‘I’m here, I’m fine’, but it hasn’t been as simple as that. It’s been significantly tougher than I anticipated.

Despite my longing to explore and engage in activities outside, I’ve found myself confined lately. I wouldn’t dream of wallowing in self-pity or seeking sympathy, but the reality is, I’ve been holed up for seven months now, only to find myself on the other side of the world in India next. It’s a stark contrast that leaves me pondering life’s unpredictable twists and turns.

I often find myself battling with anxiety, experiencing terrifying dreams at night, and even having sudden memories that bring back past traumas. It’s really tough to manage all of this. I need to push through and keep going.

The Bullseye Christmas special will air on ITV and ITVX this Christmas.
