Freddie Flintoff makes a VERY cheeky quip as Indian tailor takes 'usual measurement' during suit fitting in latest episode of Field Of Dreams

As a fervent admirer of sports and entertainment, I find myself deeply moved by the harrowing account of Freddie Flintoff’s recent accident during filming for Top Gear. The resilience and courage he has shown in the face of such adversity is truly inspiring.

Freddie Flintoff made a very cheeky, x-rated quip as an Indian tailor took an ‘unusual measurement’ during the latest episode of Field Of Dreams.

On a recent Tuesday evening, as I tuned into BBC One, I found myself squirming alongside Flintoff, aged 46, during his fitting for fresh attire. It wasn’t the most comfortable of experiences, I must admit.

In the sequel, he leads a team of underprivileged teenagers from Preston on a trip to India, teaching them not only cricket skills but also molding them into strong and empathetic young adults.

Freddie and his youthful group received an invitation to a luxurious soiree organized by the British Deputy High Commissioner in Kolkata, requiring them to don formal evening wear.

After that, they moved towards a renowned tailor shop within the city. Each boy had a custom-made suit crafted there too, along with one specifically tailored for Freddie.

And as the tailor knelt down to measure the inseam of his trousers Freddie pulled a funny face.

The tailor instructed him to unwind, while he retrieved his measuring tape and mentioned the measurement was “ten and a half” inches. After some additional moments of measuring, Freddie humorously commented, “I didn’t realize it would be this large!”

Next, he broke into laughter, causing nearby employees to pick up on the situation and join in with their own chuckles.

In a recent installment of Field of Dreams On Tour, Freddie once more captured audience affections as he assisted two promising prodigies with autism in overcoming their apprehension during their time in India.

He was seen helping the young would-be cricketers to be brave as they found themselves in uncomfortable situations in Kolkata – being upfront about his own issues with anxiety.

Freddie managed to persuade a hesitant Josh, who was nervous about visiting the bustling Indian city, to endure the tour and conquer his anxieties, and later supported his protege Finn when he felt overwhelmed by an extravagant dinner gathering with influential figures from West Bengal.

Audience members expressed their admiration on social platforms for Freddie’s empathetic manner, as he comforted each of the young men and confided his personal doubts about his readiness to rejoin the show after the accident during Top Gear filming in December 2022.

One fan expressed their opinion on platform X that if “Freddie” Flintoff doesn’t receive a BAFTA for this series, it would be unfair or unjust.

1. “The impact he’s made on those young men is beyond measure. The entertainment he’s provided for the audience has been pure delight.”

In my perspective, these young lads are gaining immense knowledge. I truly hope that this incredible chance they’ve been bestowed will shape them significantly. As for Freddie Flintoff, I think he deserves more than just a knighthood; perhaps even sainthood!

In the initial part of yesterday’s broadcast, Freddie guided his young charges through the bustling streets of Kolkata’s markets. The cricket star was taken aback by the sensory onslaught, as the crowd surged around him, eagerly seeking autographs.

However, it wasn’t just him who was left speechless – 20-year-old Josh, a person diagnosed with autism at an early age, confessed that he was caught off guard and started questioning if he could persevere throughout the India trip.

Heartbreaking scenes showed him sitting alone as the others practiced cricket on the rooftop of their accommodation before Freddie checks in on him – noticing that he doesn’t appear to be enjoying the trip.

The cricketer expresses, “I don’t wish to hold onto someone if they don’t want to stay.”

If Josh confesses that he’s apprehensive about leaving his comfort zone, Flintoff responds with, “I believe taking a small chance like this will ultimately benefit you. Even tiny steps can have a significant impact.”

Afterward, they embrace, with Josh consenting to continue on the tour. He also mentions, “Refusing such a chance would indeed be quite unwise.”

In the evening, Freddie and his group of young charges visited a lavish gathering organized by the British Deputy High Commissioner in Kolkata. They were smartly attired in formal evening wear.

The event proved uncomfortable for Finn, who stepped outside as he said he felt out of place. He was joined a moment later by Freddie, who told him: ‘It’s all good.’

The cricket player said, “Wherever you go, it’s you who makes the place feel complete. None of those folks inside could even tie your shoes properly, friend. Any space you enter, you elevate it.”

The scene concludes with the duo heading back indoors, where Freddie clears a spot at the table for Finn to join his companions.

As a lifestyle expert, I’d rephrase that as: In my opinion, the heartwarming moments where Freddie assisted the youths were highly appreciated by the audience due to his sensitive approach – he never overstepped their capabilities, always showing empathy and understanding.

“One person expressed great admiration for Josh, stating that it’s impressive how he bravely tackles a fresh challenge despite battling autism,” on X.

In a direct message to Freddie, another individual expressed: “I truly appreciated your chats with Josh and Finn as I, being on the autism spectrum, often share similar feelings in regards to crowded environments and formal events.”

‘It was nice to see you comforting them and inspiring them in their struggles. You’re a legend!’

A third user said: ‘My 7 year old son has autism. I’m scared of what life will look like for him but watching you and your lads fills me with hope just be seeing love, understanding, compassion and friendship. An uplifting light in a dark world.’

Before, Freddie was commended for assisting Josh in venturing into eating different foods. This came about when the 20-year-old confessed that his diet since arriving in India consisted solely of a tub of Pringles.

In December 2022, while participating in a Top Gear segment, Freddie, who was enjoying the pinnacle of his second career in broadcasting following retirement from cricket, tragically flipped an open-top sports car he was driving.

During the filming process, it was said that the Morgan Super Three was only going at about 36km/h before it flipped over, causing Flintoff to sustain severe facial wounds and fractured ribs.

The taping for Top Gear, a TV show where he co-hosted with comedian Paddy McGuinness, car journalist Chris Harris, and others, has been halted. The fate of the series, following its indefinite suspension back in November, is currently uncertain.

For several months, Freddie stayed away from public view while he was recuperating from the accident. It wasn’t until nearly a year later that he was spotted in public again, this time assisting the England cricket team with coaching duties.

It’s thought that he received a £9 million settlement from the BBC after the incident, and they issued an apology to the cricketer as well.

In the second season of Field of Dreams, titled “On Tour,” we got a glimpse of Freddie’s wounds two weeks ago, following the crash incident.

The video, which he captured on his smartphone, showing severe injuries on his face, began by him confessing that in that moment, he believed death was imminent.

In the episode, he stated: “Two weeks have passed since my accident. Frankly, I shouldn’t be alive given the circumstances.”

I find myself in a challenging position right now, as the journey ahead seems long. Unfortunately, I’m barely getting started, and I’m already feeling overwhelmed. Could you please lend a helping hand? I truly could use some assistance.

When one of the younger cricket players traveling with him inquires if he is completely well, he responds: “To be truthful, not quite. I’m unsure if I ever will be again. I’m improving compared to before, though.”

He communicates to the program: ‘Initially, I believed I could easily brush it off. I wished to do so and declare ‘I’m fine’, but unfortunately, it hasn’t been that simple. It has been more challenging than anticipated. Despite my desire to engage in activities, I simply haven’t had the ability to.’

Freddie Flintoff’s Field of Dreams On Tour aired on BBC1 at 9pm and is available on iPlayer.
