Fred Sirieux's fiancé Fruitcake issues worrying health update after social media hiatus as she claims she 'doesn't recognise her own reflection'

As an ardent admirer of the dynamic duo, Fred Sirieix and Fruitcake, I find myself deeply moved by the courage and resilience that Fruitcake has shown in her battle with Bell’s Palsy. Having witnessed their love story unfold on screens and through their shared adventures, it is heartwarming to see them face adversity together.

Fred Sirieix’s partner, affectionately known as Fruitcake, has shared that she was recently diagnosed with Bell’s Palsy. She expressed feelings of unfamiliarity when looking at her own reflection.

The television figure, aged 52, encountered his future spouse nine years back, as their eyes happened to meet while strolling in the area of Peckham.

On Tuesday, Fruitcake updated her Instagram followers about her absence over the past six weeks. She explained that she had been recuperating from Bell’s Palsy, a medical issue that momentarily affects the strength or immobility of facial muscles on one side.

The seasoned fashion professional, aged 50, confessed that she was transported to the hospital via an ambulance when symptoms emerged, as they could potentially resemble those of a stroke.

Fruitcake posted a series of selfie photos documenting her journey with Bell’s Palsy, offering followers a glimpse into her healing process.

On Instagram, she posted: “Hey there! I’ve been out of sight for a few months now because I was recently diagnosed with Bell’s Palsy.

‘In case you’re unaware, this condition can lead to a swift, fleeting loss of muscle control or immobility on one side of the face.’

Sharing details about her ailments, she mentioned, “At first, I felt intense agony, noticeable changes in my face (take a look at the latest picture), and unease in both my ear and head. This sensation was extremely uncomfortable and tough to handle.

In my case, when I experienced symptoms that resembled those of Bell’s Palsy, which can be confusing since they’re somewhat like those seen in a stroke, I quickly contacted the NHS helpline. As a result, an ambulance was dispatched to transport me urgently to the emergency department for prompt medical attention.

‘Now, I’m managing some ongoing issues like visual disturbances and aches in my ear and jaw.’

Fruitcake mentioned that sometimes, due to a lack of sensation in her face, she wouldn’t immediately recognize her own image in a mirror.

She mentioned that one of her greatest struggles has been failing to recognize herself in the mirror, causing her to avoid social interactions.

Though every day presents fresh gifts, I’m gradually regaining my familiar appearance. Ever since my diagnosis, I’ve found myself exploring this new health issue – something I wasn’t familiar with before. Listening to the experiences of others going through the same thing has truly been an inspiration.

She mentioned, “It’s important for me to acknowledge the deep appreciation I hold—my loved ones have truly shone throughout this experience.

I’m deeply grateful to those who’ve gotten in touch to ask about me, your concern truly makes a difference! And I can’t forget to express my gratitude to the incredible team at the NHS who took care of me – you all are simply amazing! 🌟

‘I feel truly blessed that my recovery is progressing faster than I initially anticipated.

As we draw near to the festive period, I extend warm wishes for a delightful Christmas and a prosperous year ahead in 2025! I’ll be back with my latest fashion discoveries shortly, but until then, take good care of yourselves, especially staying safe and healthy. Farewell for now, and I look forward to our reunion soon! 💛

Previously, it was disclosed that Fred and Fruitcake had decided to postpone their wedding due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. They are currently waiting for the pandemic to end before they say their vows.

As a devoted admirer, I must share that the lockdown prevented me from presenting my beloved with an engagement ring at the moment of my proposal, yet fortunately, her answer was still a resounding ‘yes’.

Last year, in the I’m A Celebrity jungle, Fred mentioned that he and Fruitcake intend to get married in Jamaica.

Fred said: ‘I’ve never had a bad date. But the way I met Fruitcake, I met her in Peckham…

As I walked, she flashed a smile my way, and I returned it. Her eyes captivated me, so I felt compelled to approach her for conversation.

Nine years back, I suggested going out for a drink that very night by asking for her phone number. Now, we’re set to tie the knot in beautiful Jamaica next year.
