As a former child star, Lindsay Lohan recently shared her harrowing and intrusive encounters with the limelight during her early career.
Following her role as the twin sisters, Hallie and Annie, in the 1998 reboot of “The Parent Trap”, the actress swiftly gained nationwide recognition and became a familiar figure in many homes.
During her teenage years, she starred in multiple coming-of-age films such as “Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen”, “Mean Girls”, “Get a Clue” and “Just My Luck”.

Throughout her adolescence, she featured in several coming-of-age movies like “Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen”, “Mean Girls”, “Get a Clue” and “Just My Luck”.
Meanwhile, as her career prospered, a young Lohan encountered intense media focus and criticism. She claimed this led to severe Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).
In an interview with The Times, Lohan – currently a married woman with a two-year-old child – reminisced about her time under the public gaze.

She expressed, “I hope my loved ones never have to go through the ordeal of being pursued by photographers like I did, as it was a truly frightening experience for me. I still struggle with the aftermath of that trauma, suffering from severe post-traumatic stress disorder.
“I find the most intrusive circumstances truly unsettling. They are downright terrifying, and I hope such experiences never recur as they pose a risk and aren’t just.” (This version retains the original sentiment while using more common phrasing and a slightly different structure.)

Among Lohan’s most successful works was the cherished 2003 comedy “Freaky Friday,” in which she portrayed Anna, a mischievous teenager who undergoes an enigmatic body swap with her strict mother, Tess, played by Jamie Lee Curtis.
In a bizarre twist of fate, these two find themselves occupying each other’s physical forms, leading them through an assortment of embarrassing and amusing predicaments. As they journey together, they come to value their individual lives more deeply.
Lohan and Curtis will reunite next week (8th of August) for the much-anticipated sequel, where they reprise their roles. In Freaky Friday, there’ll be twice as many body-swapping mishaps since Anna’s daughter Harper and future stepdaughter Lily will also get caught up in the mix.
Freakier Friday lands in UK cinemas on 8 August 2025.
