Frasier star Kelsey Grammer’s beloved brood: As star welcomes eighth child – how his offspring range in age from 42 to a newborn baby

Kelsey Grammer recently became a father for the eighth time! He and his wife, Kayte Walsh, welcomed a baby boy named Christopher.

Kelsey Grammer, 70, revealed he’s expecting a baby during an appearance on the ‘Pod Meets World’ podcast on Monday.

I’ve been following this actor for years, and it’s amazing to see the family he’s created! His kids are a real mix of ages, from his oldest at 42 all the way down to his brand new baby. It’s just wonderful to watch them all grow up.

Kelsey has shared that he’s working to be more involved in raising his younger children, acknowledging he wasn’t as present for his older ones.

In a recent interview with People, he admitted to not giving enough attention to some of his children, particularly his oldest two.

I’m trying to be a better father now, and I’ll always be here for you, so you can reach out whenever you need to.

Spencer Grammer, 42

Kelsey and his first wife, Doreen Alderman, were married from 1982 to 1990 and had a daughter named Spencer, who was Kelsey’s first child.

Spencer followed in their father’s footsteps and became an actor, with roles in the animated series Rick and Morty and the TV show Greek.

She first appeared on screen in an uncredited role on the show Cheers, where her father was a cast member.

In 2022, she starred alongside her father again in the TV film The 12 Days of Christmas Eve.

Kelsey has always been incredibly supportive of my acting career,” Spencer shared. “He constantly encourages me to pursue what I love and make choices based on genuine motivations.

Kelsey became a grandfather in 2011 with the birth of his grandson, Emmett, to Spencer and her former spouse, James Hekseth.

Greer Grammer, 33

Kelsey welcomes his second daughter Greer with hair and makeup stylist Barrie Buckner in 1992.

Greer started her pageant career in 2008, winning Miss Teen Malibu in her first competition. She continued her success by finishing in the top ten at Miss California Teen.

She competed again for the following years and finished in the top 10 each time.

Greer has also made acting appearances over the years including in the TV shows Awkward and iCarly.

In 2023, she participated in the SAG-AFTRA actors’ union strike which lasted for three months.

After participating in a protest, she shared that, having been a member for over ten years, she’d never felt more proud to be part of the union.

Peri Gilpin’s daughter, Greer, has joined the new Frasier series on Paramount+. She plays Alice, the daughter of her mother’s character, Roz Doyle.

Mason Grammer, 24

Kelsey and his former wife, Camille Grammer, have two children together. Their first child, a daughter named Mason, was born in October 2001.

Kelsey and Camille ended their 13-year marriage with a divorce in 2010, and Mason has spoken about how the separation impacted her.

“That was the most difficult period of my life,” she shared with Genlux Magazine. “It really forced me to mature quickly, as I suddenly had a lot more on my plate and a lot more to handle.”

Growing up was tough. My dad wasn’t really there, and it was so hard on my mom. But honestly? It’s amazing now. We can talk about anything – everything is just out in the open, and it means the world to me.

Mason graduated from Emerson College in 2024 and has quickly begun a successful modeling career, appearing in Harper’s Bazaar and showcasing her work on the runway at New York Fashion Week.

Camille sent Mason a birthday message on Saturday, saying, ‘Happy birthday to my wonderful daughter. You bring so much joy to my life.’

It’s been wonderful seeing how gracefully you’ve handled everything. You’re a truly strong, kind, and beautiful person, and I’m so incredibly proud of you. I love you!

Jude Grammer, 21

Kelsey and Camille’s second child, a son named Jude, was born via surrogate.

Camille has shared that Jude dreams of following in his father’s footsteps and becoming an actor, as she told Page Six.

She told The Daily Dish that he’s expressed interest in acting, and she thinks he’d be good at it. She described him as naturally funny, with a great personality and effortless comedic timing.

It’s possible he’d be a good fit, we’ll have to see. I think he’d work well – he’s really funny, with a quick and clever wit.

He was also happy with the idea of his father having more kids.

When asked about having more children with his wife Kayte, Kelsey said his sons, Jude and Mason, were enthusiastic about the idea.

‘My son, Jude, especially, he’s like, ‘When are the kids coming?”

In 2023, Camille shared that her son, Jude, was now in college while celebrating his 19th birthday online.

She exclaimed how unbelievable it was that he was already nineteen, noting his birthday and upcoming move to his college dorm. She wished him luck in college, praising his humor and kindness, and expressed how proud she was of him, ending with a loving message.

Faith Grammer, 13

Kelsey and Camille finalized their divorce in 2011, and Kelsey married Kayte that same year. They welcomed their first child, a daughter named Faith, in July 2012.

The couple was expecting twins, but sadly announced that one of the babies, their son, did not survive shortly after birth.

Kelsey described seeing her daughter for the first time to People magazine, saying the baby initially looked scared, but then immediately smiled at her mother.

Kelsey Gabriel Grammer, 11

Two years after Faith’s birth, Kelsey and Kayte welcomed a boy, Kelsey Gabriel.

Kelsey explained that they’ve decided to name their son Gabriel, following a family tradition of using middle names as first names.

Only two months after Gabriel was born, Kelsey shared that his arrival motivated him and Kayte to start thinking about having more children.

Kelsey also described his son as a ‘lovely kid’ and said he was ‘real easy and agreeable’.

Auden James Grammer, 8

Kelsey and Kayte Grammer welcomed their son, Auden James Ellis Grammer, in November 2016, fulfilling their desire to expand their family.

In a statement, the couple revealed the story behind their son’s name.

We named the project after two of our favorite artists: the poet W.H. Auden and the singer-songwriter James Taylor, hence the name.

They added that Ellis was Kelsey’s maternal great-grandfather’s name.

Christopher Grammer

Kelsey confirmed his son Christopher, his fourth child with Kayte, was born earlier this month.

‘It was like three days ago. Christopher that’s just joined the family.’

Four months ago, the Daily Mail reported that Kelsey and Kayte, both 46, were expecting a baby. A source told the publication that the pregnancy had brought them closer together.

I’m so happy to hear that Kelsey is finally getting the chance to really soak in fatherhood again! It sounds like he’s absolutely loving it, and it’s wonderful to know he’s cherishing this time with his family.

This will be the couple’s fourth child. Adding Kelsey’s children from previous relationships, their new baby will be surrounded by a lot of love.

Having revisited the role of Frasier one final time, the actor is now moving on to new projects and a different chapter in his life. He’s especially excited to be more actively involved in his children’s upbringing, something he felt he couldn’t fully do before.
