Frasier reboot cancelled after two seasons

Paramount+ has cancelled the recent Frasier reboot after two seasons.

According to Deadline’s report, the comedy series won’t get a third season on the streaming platform. But here’s some positive news for fans: the producers at CBS Studios are dedicated to the show and plan to find another home for it on different platforms.

It seems that CBS Network, a sister company to CBS Studios, is unlikely to acquire the sitcom, as they are currently focusing on a spin-off of “The Neighborhood” and have no room for additional shows due to other comedies already under development.

It’s possible that streaming platforms such as Prime Video and Hulu might become the new residence for the classic sitcom “Frasier,” since they currently offer the original series. However, seasons one and two of the reboot, together with the original episode library, will still be found on Paramount+.

In 2023, a new series featuring Kelsey Grammer revives the character, continuing his story as he moves back to Boston and embarks on a new phase of life.

In this setting, Frasier (Grammer) is accompanied by his son Freddy (Cutmore-Scott), a former college buddy named Alan (Lyndhurst), his nephew David (Keith), neighbor Eve (Salgueiro), and a university acquaintance called Olivia (Olagundoye).

The program showcased the original cast members, such as Frasier’s former spouse Lilith (played by Bebe Neuwirth), Bob “Bulldog” Briscoe (portrayed by Dan Butler), Gil Chesterton (depicted by Edward Hibbert), Bebe Glazer (acted by Harriet Sansom Harris) and Roz Doyle (performed by Peri Gilpin).

During an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Gilpin expressed that her guest appearance was a dream fulfilled and honored the memory of her deceased co-star, John Mahoney, who played Martin Crane, as he passed away in 2018.

She mentioned, “It’s a mix of emotions since the thought of John brings such sadness. I truly miss him. He was an exceptional friend, yet it feels like we haven’t fully addressed our situation.
