Frankie Bridge has shared how important fashion is to her, explaining that she now chooses clothes for herself, rather than trying to impress others.
The 37-year-old Loose Women panelist revealed in an interview with MailOnline that her time in the girl group The Saturdays greatly influenced her fashion sense.
Frankie, who became known as part of S Club Juniors at age 12, explained that women’s fashion often evolves throughout their lives to fit different needs and phases.
Being in two bands has happened during important times in my life. With S Club Juniors, I was very young and had a lot of freedom to experiment with my image and have fun.
Being in The Saturdays was a huge learning experience for me – I grew up a lot, going from being a teenager to my twenties. Looking back, there are definitely some things I cringe at!
Before, my style was focused on being attractive and coordinating with the group. Now, I finally get to choose clothes that I like for myself, without worrying about how others see me or trying to conform to expectations.
After years of figuring things out, I’ve finally discovered what makes me feel good about myself. I also enjoy having completely different styles for work and for relaxing at home – it’s a fun contrast!
Frankie, the founder of the fashion platform Faves which showcases popular high street styles, is making London Fashion Week accessible to everyone for the very first time.
She’s organizing her first event on Saturday, February 21st, teaming up with LOOKFANTASTIC and other popular stores, to make Fashion Week more open and inclusive.
She explained to the Mail that the idea came from years of people asking about her clothes and how she put her outfits together.
I’ve always been passionate about finding clothes that are both chic and comfortable. I understand how stressful shopping can be, especially when you’re still figuring out your personal style. That’s why I created Faves – a curated collection designed to make finding what you love easy, like I’ve already done the hard work of browsing for you. Faves simplifies fashion and takes away the overwhelm.
Our goal is to help women feel strong and self-assured. Building a community allows them to connect with others who share their values and interests.
I hope Faves keeps becoming a top resource for women seeking easy and relatable style ideas.
I’m open to exploring different avenues, like working with others on projects, creating unique versions of existing items, or potentially even designing my own pieces in the future.
Above all, it’s crucial to stay true to ourselves and provide real value. My goal is to create a welcoming environment where women feel encouraged and strong, not overwhelmed.
Frankie became well-known in 2007 when she successfully auditioned for the girl group The Saturdays, joining members Vanessa White, Mollie King, Una Healy, and Rochelle Humes, whom she’d previously worked with in S Club 8.
After the group disbanded in 2014 following a period of success, Frankie began using her popular online presence – with 1.5 million followers – to showcase her love of fashion.
She married Wayne Bridge, a former professional footballer, in 2014. They have two sons together, Parker and Carter.
And get this – she’s basically a stepmom now to his son, Jaydon, who’s nineteen! It’s just… wow. Jaydon’s from when he was with Vanessa Perroncel, you might remember her, she’s a gorgeous French model and she’s 50 now. I’ve followed his whole life, and it’s amazing to see how things have unfolded!
Frankie explained that being in The Saturdays really shaped her fashion sense. It was a time of trying out new looks and staying on top of the latest trends.
As a lifestyle expert, I’ve always believed in the power of experimentation, and I experienced that firsthand when I was constantly being styled for events and photoshoots. It was amazing! It allowed me to explore looks I wouldn’t normally choose, and honestly, it really helped me discover my own personal style by pushing me beyond what felt comfortable. It’s a great reminder that sometimes the best style choices come from stepping outside your usual preferences.
I think about fashion differently now. I build my outfits around my mood and always aim for a polished, complete look.
I’ve realized it’s better to make little changes and find what already works in your closet, instead of completely rebuilding it. Feeling comfortable and confident is the most important thing – and that’s what inspired me to create Faves.
I wanted to prove that women can always have easy, stylish looks, no matter where they are in life.
