Frankie Bridge shared that both of her husband’s parents have been dealing with significant health issues and are currently recovering after undergoing medical procedures.
Frankie Bridge, 36, shared that her mother-in-law, Wendy, 68, recently had a hip replacement. Her father-in-law, Mick, 75, who is married to Frankie’s husband Wayne Bridge, is also recovering after a procedure to clear blocked arteries.
Wayne’s parents share their home in Surrey with Wayne and his family and have been very involved in raising their sons, Parker, age 12, and Carter, age 10. They moved in when Parker was a baby.
Frankie recently shared on her YouTube channel that Wayne’s mother just had a hip replacement, likely earlier this week.
‘Wayne’s dad’s not long had a stent in his heart, so he’s still pretty much recovering.’
The Loose Women star shared that things got even trickier around Christmas when Wendy became unwell while still recovering from her hip surgery.

Frankie mentioned that Wayne’s mother is unwell, which isn’t a good situation. She didn’t share many details about what’s happening with her in-laws’ medical care.
Hip replacement surgery is most often needed by people between 60 and 80 years old, usually because of arthritis or other conditions that come with age. It generally takes two to four weeks to start recovering, but it can take six to twelve weeks to feel fully recovered.
Although not a major operation, placing a stent in the heart is a serious procedure. It involves inserting a tiny mesh tube into a blocked artery to help blood flow more freely to the heart.
After treatment, people generally need to rest for a few weeks and avoid strenuous activity. They’ll also typically need to take medication to prevent blood clots for at least a year to avoid any problems.
Frankie shared that Mick is recovering from a heart procedure and needs to take it easy, so he can’t do his normal activities like childcare right now.
She explained that she and her husband, Wayne, a former Chelsea player, are now sharing more household responsibilities in addition to their jobs.
She explained that Wayne’s father isn’t able to help with bedtime, but her in-laws want them to stick to their existing plans as much as possible.
In a recent video taken while driving to a birthday party, Frankie described a conversation about childcare. Her in-laws were okay with her and her husband handling things, saying it wasn’t a problem. Since their children are capable and the in-laws live with them, they decided her husband would supervise the kids.

The reality TV star explained that she can’t stay at a friend’s party for very long because Wayne’s parents are recovering and unable to handle childcare by themselves.
She said: ‘It’s such a shame because Wayne and I barely go to things together.
I mostly spend my time on work and with friends, but we have very different hobbies. For example, Wayne likes to go to house music raves, while I prefer going to the theatre.
She explained that it was a lovely chance for them to spend an evening together, especially since she prefers staying close to home. She likes knowing she can enjoy a couple of drinks and quickly get to bed.
Frankie has often shared how much she appreciates having her in-laws live with her family. She says it’s helped her continue working without needing to pay for daycare.
In a 2022 interview with OK! Magazine, she explained that they don’t need to hire a nanny or babysitter. She said they feel fortunate that childcare is always covered by either herself, her husband Wayne, or his parents, which works perfectly for their family.
Working parents often struggle to balance their careers and family life, and it’s common to feel guilty about not being able to be fully present for their children. They frequently worry about missing important events or not spending enough quality time with them.

Let me tell you a little about my family! I married Wayne back in 2014, and that meant becoming a stepmom to his son, Jaydon, who’s now 19. Jaydon’s mom is Vanessa Perroncel, a lovely woman and a former model. It’s been a wonderful journey blending our lives together.
Okay, so she totally revealed this a while back, and it just… gets me. Apparently, three years ago, her two boys were still sharing a bed with her and Wayne! Can you believe it? She said they hadn’t had a single night alone since the kids were born. It’s just… so relatable, you know? Like, I totally understand needing those cuddles, but a night to themselves sounds like a dream!
She also revealed she walks around her home completely naked in front of the kids.
Talking with her Loose Women colleagues Jane Moore, Katie Piper, and Kaye Adams, she explained that she doesn’t understand the controversy. She wouldn’t feel the need to change her appearance or hide anything.
Honestly, I’m just waiting for Parker and Carter to show any sign they’re not having fun, like if they started getting fussy or even just saying ‘Mommy’ because they’re overwhelmed. That would be my cue to step in, you know? I’m hyper-aware of their little moods, and I’m ready to adjust things the second they need me to.
Oh my gosh, she’s just the sweetest, right? She said she really wants to be super open with her kids, hoping it’ll make them feel good about anyone she might date in the future. Like, she wants them to be comfortable and happy, and that’s just…everything! It’s so thoughtful, honestly. I’m obsessed with how much she cares!
