Online critics have harshly criticized Frankie Bridge following her disclosure that she allowed her 11-year-old to go shopping in town with his friends.
On Tuesday, the ex-member of The Saturdays (now aged 36) decided to openly admit a personal aspect of parenthood on TikTok, sharing it with their followers.
Frankie shared that she’d escorted Parker, aged 11, into town on his own to meet up with his friends for the very first time. She openly discussed her concerns as a parent.
Expressing her concerns, Frankie confessed that this significant moment seemed like a time when the effectiveness of one’s parenting skills is truly put to the test.
However, Frankie faced public scrutiny when numerous individuals expressed their disapproval in the video’s comment section, arguing that Parker was considered “far too young” for an unsupervised outing.
In the recording, Frankie expressed that he had recently left his eldest child for the first time to socialize independently with friends in the city.

In a casual tone, “I’m trying to appear laid-back about it and say ‘Go ahead, hang out with friends in town…’ However, I have concerns about your safety. For instance, you haven’t yet mastered crossing the road independently, often forget to buckle up, and I find myself constantly reminding you, despite my daily reminders.
It seems that you’ve always kept your companion with you, but today, he’s venturing out on his own – something he’s been discussing for about two weeks with a group of friends, including some girls from an all-girls school. I find myself wondering, just how is this going?
Frankie expressed her disbelief at the fact that her son was reaching an age where he was about to begin high school and also old enough for independent ventures.
She went on, “Secondly, isn’t it hard for you to accept that they can lead their lives and move on? It seems as if he’s just dropped by, as if nothing has changed, like it’s no big deal.
Essentially, the primary guidance I offered was: avoid being cruel or impolite, steer clear from conflicts, be respectful and considerate, refrain from mocking others, and avoid making people uncomfortable or feeling threatened by your behavior. In simpler terms, “If you don’t want to do something, just don’t.” It covers a multitude of good behaviors.
At this point, your parenting skills are truly put to the test. It’s here that you discover just how effective your parenting has been. Essentially, have you instilled the right values in them? Will they follow through on those lessons when they really need them? Quite a wild ride!
Frankie is the mother to her two sons, Parker and Carter (aged 9), alongside her ex-footballer husband Wayne. Similarly, Wayne has another son named Jayden (aged 18) with his previous partner Vanessa Perroncel.
Many viewers swiftly expressed their opinions in the video’s comment section, stating that Parker seemed excessively mature for his age, with comments like: ‘He’s only 11, far too young to be in town. My daughter is also 11, and there are simply too many questionable individuals out there.’

Comment now
1. “Eleven seems too young these days, I wouldn’t let my son roam the streets just yet.”
2. “In today’s time, I don’t consider eleven to be old enough to venture out alone.”
Both sentences convey the same sentiment in a more natural and easy-to-understand manner than the original statements.
In simpler terms, ‘I was 39 years old, so when I was 11, I used to go out alone with friends. However, I wouldn’t let my daughter do the same today because I believe that times have changed and it seems too advanced compared to 1997.’
At 11, my son doesn’t venture outside yet he’s 14. I have an app that tracks his phone location, but I still find it inappropriate for him to go out given today’s safety concerns.
Other supporters of Frankie’s stardom swiftly came to his defense, arguing that allowing children the freedom and autonomy necessary for their development contributes significantly to raising healthy, balanced kids.
If you don’t believe your children are capable of handling themselves in town by 11, then it suggests that you may have overlooked their maturity or skills. This experience allows them to navigate the world independently, fostering both personal development and social growth.
Great job! They need to learn. I presume he has a mobile device. Navigating through the baby phase was challenging, and watching them learn on their own can be nerve-wracking. He will recall everything you’ve taught him. He will distinguish right from wrong. Just wait until they start attending nightclubs!!! Love, xxxxx.
Comments indicate that the children should take on more responsibilities and experience some independence. Although the world may seem intimidating, it’s not safe to keep them confined within our homes all the time.

Last month, Frankie gleamed with joy as she embarked on a family vacation to the Maldives, a trip designed to commemorate her spouse Wayne’s 45th birthday.
She posted a variety of photos on Instagram, showcasing her lavish vacation at the Siyam World Maldives beach resort.
On that occasion, Wayne’s buddy, Luke Hampton – a football coach and husband – as well as Luke’s celebration partner, joined the family. Additionally, Frankie’s friend, Leah Meredith – serving as the Chief Brand Officer (CBO) of her brand Faves – was present too.
Frankie was stunning in the family photograph alongside Wayne and their boys, wearing a flowing maxi dress made of sheer red and blue floral chiffon.
The journey was taken to honor both Wayne and Luke’s birthdays; it was Frankie who provided the cake, bearing the message: ‘Happy Birthday Fathers.’
