FragPunk Suffers Last-Minute Delay For Consoles With No New Release Date

It’s been reported that NetEase and game developer Bad Guitar have unexpectedly postponed the console version of the card-based 5v5 shooter, FragPunk, which was initially set for release tomorrow. As of now, a new launch date has not been disclosed.

As a gamer, I’ve just learned from the FragPunk team’s tweet that they faced some unexpected technical hurdles in optimization and adaptation. But don’t worry, console players on Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 will be rewarded for their patience. Bad Guitar aims to make our gaming experience top-notch, so they’re planning to offer compensation to ensure we get the best possible gameplay.

Instead of hastily releasing the console version with a possible subpar player experience, the studio opted for a challenging choice to postpone the console launches, ensuring both PC and console users get a similar high-quality gameplay experience.

We recognize that delays can be annoying, and we genuinely apologize for the inconvenience you might have experienced due to the delay.” They mentioned that console gamers will acquire all Season 1 rewards up until the time when the Xbox and PlayStation versions launch, including in-game money, XP, and cosmetic items. Moreover, those who pre-ordered the game will receive a $10 worth of in-game currency upon the console release.

The game “FragPunk” is planned for release on both Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 in the future; however, the specific launch date has yet to be revealed. Notably, the PC version remains unchanged.
