As a seasoned gamer with a soft spot for hero shooters, I can’t help but feel a surge of excitement upon hearing about FragPunk! With its unique blend of Lancer powers, weapons, and Shard Cards that seem to defy the norms, this game promises an unparalleled gaming experience.
NetEase Games and Bad Guitar Studios have given us a sneak peek at their upcoming title, “FragPunk”, a free-to-play team-based hero shooter where you can manipulate the rules with Shard Cards. The game is set to launch in March 2025.
In FragPunk, you have the ability to launch potent assaults and detrimental effects on your opponents, all while leveraging the abilities of Lancer heroes and an array of weaponry. The distinctive aspects of this game can be observed in the trailer below, and you’ll catch a peek at some of the Shard Cards, such as Small Head and World Flip.
In this game, every Shard Card is “permanently unlockable at no cost,” which means you won’t need to spend money on any of the game’s Shard Cards. This move by the development team signifies their dedication to preserving top-notch gameplay and fostering a pleasant player experience, while simultaneously distancing themselves from pay-to-win tactics that might disrupt the game’s balance, as suggested in the press release.
On the 6th of March, 2025, you’ll get to experience FragPunk on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC! What’s more exciting is that cross-platform play will be available from day one. Take a peek at the release date trailer below.
