Fox News’ Kat Timpf gives post-op (and postpartum) update after double mastectomy — including photo

Just like in a poignant drama, life sometimes presents unexpected challenges, and for me, that challenge is breast cancer. Recently, I faced this adversity head-on with a double mastectomy surgery, which I underwent to ensure the best possible outcome. Despite the dramatic turn my story has taken, I remain optimistic and strong, ready to embrace each new day as a chance to conquer this challenge, just as our heroines do in their favorite films.

After the operation, she shared on social media on Thursday that “they’re not significantly smaller than they were during pregnancy,” at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City. Despite suggesting a reference to her breasts, the image posted was of her feet, covered by a black “CENSORED” box concealing her toes.

As a passionate film enthusiast, I recently found myself in an unexpected situation. Last week, I was diagnosed with breast cancer just hours before giving birth. Remarkably, my little boy might have actually saved my life.

15 hours prior to giving birth to her son in mid-February, which was a week overdue, Timpf discovered she had Stage 0 breast cancer. Instead of the typical birth announcement, she chose an unconventional approach by disclosing her diagnosis and upcoming surgery plans along with the news of her baby’s arrival. It is worth noting that the name of her son is not Carl.

Timpf’s coworkers presented her with presents and encouraging messages. She shared an image of a slightly vulgar cake from commentator and “The Five” member Jessica Tarlov, who was thrilled that Timpf was now breast-free and looking great.

“Greg Gutfeld eagerly anticipates your return to his late-night show, where you used to be a regular before taking some time off. ‘I adore you,’ Fox Business host Dagen McDowell expressed. Comedian and fellow Fox personality Jim Norton appreciated your humor, stating, ‘You’re consistently funny, regardless of the situation or circumstances.’

In a video posted on February 28th, the author of “I Used to Like You Until…” shared her experiences dealing with an overwhelming amount of unwanted breast cancer advice she received following her decision to undergo a double-mastectomy. She particularly addressed those who found her chosen surgery excessive given the circumstances.

Timpf, who is preparing for a three-month maternity break, joyfully welcomed her newborn son alongside her husband, Cameron Friscia, a veteran army ranger, after four years of marriage.

In July 2024, she disclosed on Fox News that she had made arrangements for all methods of reproduction, apart from becoming pregnant herself.

Initially, I hadn’t anticipated becoming pregnant, especially not naturally. When it happened, I assumed I might miscarry given my age, as I’m considered to be in the geriatric pregnancy category medically speaking. It’s surprising, if you read some of the comments, that a 35-year-old woman could find someone to have a relationship with at all!

But Timpf seemed very happy with Friscia and with the path her life had taken.

Initially, the idea of having children didn’t appeal to me, but encountering him sparked a shift in my perspective. There were several factors at play: I felt a void in my life that needed filling, I was intrigued by the prospect, I sensed that I had accomplished most of what I set out to do, and, surprisingly, I found the idea amusing.

The infant isn’t just a little – to clarify, they’re like every other thing in that sense, but I hope you understand my point – but rather, it seems to me that our journey together would be filled with abundant laughter. Laughter, as you may know, is what I cherish most about being alive.
