Forza Horizon 5 'Hide & Seek' Game Mode Unveiled For September

As a seasoned gamer with countless hours spent behind the virtual wheel of some of the world’s most iconic vehicles, the announcement of Forza Horizon 5‘s new Hide & Seek game mode has sent my heart racing! I can still remember the thrill of cat-and-mouse chases in games like Grand Theft Auto and Need for Speed, and this new mode promises to bring that excitement to the beautiful landscapes of Mexico.

Playground Games has disclosed that the upcoming month will see the addition of a brand-new Hide & Seek game mode to Forza Horizon 5. In this thrilling gameplay, players will be divided into Hiders and Seekers, with the clock counting down as the action unfolds.

As a cunning fugitive, I must navigate towards my designated safe haven before the clock ticks down to zero, all while a relentless pack of trackers closes in – in this game of cat and mouse, I’ll have to skillfully weave among the crowd or camouflage myself within my surroundings if I hope to reach my destination unnoticed.

As a ‘Camouflage Artist’, you have the option to select either the 2012 Jeep Wrangler, 2017 Ford F-150 Raptor, 2017 Chevrolet Colorado ZR2, or 2018 Mercedes X Class. Meanwhile, five individuals will be ‘Trackers’, tasked with locating you while keeping an eye on the ‘Tracker’s Detection Radar’ to completely fill it and emerge victorious in each round.

In this game of Hide & Seek, you have the opportunity to take control of some iconic vehicles: the 2016 BMW M4 GTS, the 2017 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1, the 2011 Mercedes SLS AMG, the 2015 Audi RS6, the 2008 Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X GSR, and the 2021 Ford Bronco. Important to note, these cars are all stock versions, meaning no modifications, custom builds, or unique livery designs are permitted in this game.

The game consists of two rounds, each lasting four minutes, with features such as the Radar or Ping capabilities to aid the Seekers. Additionally, there’s the Chase Breaker tool that temporarily slows down the Seekers, disables their Radar and Ping for 20 seconds, and makes the user invisible while passing through breakable objects. This is all done to help catch the Hider.

In Forza Horizon 5, starting from the 10th of September, you can join the Horizon Festival: Hide & Seek event. This unique event has its own advancement system, meaning that any Experience Points (XP) you gather will unlock fresh badges and honors for you. Additionally, a fresh batch of Hide & Seek achievements will be introduced to Forza Horizon 5 in October.
