Fortnite's New 'Ballistic' 5v5 First-Person Shooter Mode Enters Early Access This Week

As a seasoned gamer with a heart full of adrenaline and a soul craving for competitive battles, I can’t help but feel my pulse quicken at the prospect of Epic Games’ latest offering, ‘Fortnite Ballistic‘. With its round-based 5v5 first-person shooter mode, it seems like they’ve taken the best elements from my favorite FPS games and melded them into one tantalizing package.

Epic Games has unveiled ‘Ballistic’, an upcoming 5v5 round-based first-person shooter game mode for Fortnite. This exciting new feature is expected to challenge players with its focus on strategic planning, collaborative teamwork, and individual skills. The early access release date is set for this week.

At launch, Ballistic will feature Ranked and Unranked play modes, an initial assortment of weapons, a restricted selection of items, and the “Skyline 10” map. After release, changes will be implemented to the game based on player input. Additionally, more maps, weapons, and features are planned for future updates.

At the outset of every Ballistic game, competitors are separated into attackers and defenders. Following this, they are offered a selection among five Flex Gadgets. The objective of the attackers is to establish a “reality-splitting” Rift Point Device at one of two locations on the map, whereas the defenders’ mission is to impede the device from being planted and exploded.

A round concludes either when the Rift Point Device activates, or if both teams are entirely eliminated. After six rounds, the players change positions, and the game finishes when one team achieves seven victories. Simultaneously, Flex Gadgets consist of Proximity Mines, a Bubble Shield, a Recon Grenade for marking enemies, a Frag Grenade, and an Impulse Grenade used for repelling opponents.

Fortnite Ballistic launches in early access on 11th December.
