Fortnite update July 19: Pirates of the Caribbean event patch notes
As a long-time Fortnite player and avid fan of the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, I am beyond excited about this latest update! The July 19 patch notes have brought the pirate world to life in Fortnite with the introduction of Shipwrecked Shallows and its eerie pirate ship atmosphere. I can hardly wait to explore this new location and get my hands on the Mythic Ship in a Bottle, which promises to leave a chaotic scene behind after it disappears!
Here is everything included in Fortnite’s July 19 update (Pirates of the Caribbean event).
Jack Sparrow and his crew have made their way into Fortnite with the new “Cursed Sails” event based on Pirates of the Caribbean. This update introduces fresh skins, items within the game, and an event pass for all players to enjoy. The pirate-themed adventure is currently underway and will end on August 6. Here’s a comprehensive list of the changes brought about by the Fortnite x Pirates of the Caribbean July 19 update.
New location: Shipwrecked Shallows
In the most recent Fortnite update, Shallow Shipwreck takes center stage in the patch notes. While not an exact match, it’s the closest thing we’ve seen to Lazy Lagoon since Chapter 3. The Pirates of the Caribbean vibe is palpable here, creating a spooky setting with colossal pirate ships. At this location, players can acquire the new Mythic Item, the Ship in a Bottle, which we’ll discuss soon.
Fortnite July 19 update introduces the Mythic Ship in a Bottle
In the latest Fortnite update on July 19, a novelty stands out – the Mythic “Ship in a Bottle.” Upon activation, this item summons an enormous spectral ship that wreaks havoc on its surroundings. The boat’s reign of destruction lasts only for a while before it vanishes, leaving behind chaos. You can come across the elusive “Ship in a Bottle” by discovering Chests hidden within the Shipwrecked Shallows POI.
Here are some notes via Wensoing:
- Spawns a massive moving ship which you ride on
- You can press Jump to instigate a crash
- During this, the ship will dive into the air and hit the ground
- Deals 50 damage when you’re hit and 5000 environmental damage
Fortnite update on July 19 features unvaulted weapons/items
In the recent Fortnite update on July 19th, both the new location and mythic items have gained much attention. However, don’t forget about some beloved returning items! Among these is the Pirate Cannon from earlier seasons. This versatile tool offers two functions: fire cannonballs from it or jump inside to propel yourself or a teammate across the map.
After that, there’s the “Buried Treasure” from Chapter 1, an ideal addition for the Pirates of the Caribbean adventure. This item manifests as a map leading you to a hidden treasure chest. Once unearthed, the chest rewards you with a bounty of goods to boost your progress towards achieving Victory Royale.
In conclusion, the popular Flint-Knock Pistol makes its return. Known for its enjoyment factor, this gun deals significant damage and unleashes a large explosion. Additionally, it can be utilized to counteract falling damage or traverse the map by spinning through the air.

Starting July 19 with the Fortnite update, the Cursed Sails Pass is now available. Unlike the Battle Pass, this new feature grants access to the coveted Jack Sparrow skin. Two options exist: a Free Track and a Premium Track. The latter requires an investment of 1,000 V-Bucks and holds the key to unlocking the Jack Sparrow persona.
As an old sea dog who’s spent most of my days sailing the treacherous waters of the Sea of Thieves, I can tell you that there’s nothing quite as thrilling as unlocking new rewards for all your hard work on the high seas. And let me tell you, there are some real gems hidden in the Cursed Sails event!
