Fortnite could be getting 200-player lobbies
As a long-time Fortnite gamer with countless hours spent in the game, I’m beyond excited about the potential of 200-player lobbies coming to Fortnite! The idea of more players in one game is nothing new to me, having played games like Warzone that have already mastered this. But the thought of experiencing this in my beloved Fortnite is truly a game changer.
Tim Sweeney (Epic Games CEO) revealed that Fortnite can now hold 200 players in a lobby.
Indeed, the title isn’t deceiving you. Fortnite might introduce 200-player lobbies, similar to Warzone’s large-scale battles. Hints from Fortnite suggest that this could be a new trend for their Battle Royale game.
What exactly would a 200-player lobby in Fortnite look like, though?
Epic Games CEO hints at 200-player lobbies in Fortnite
I was thrilled to hear Tim Sweeney’s latest announcement during his interview with Matthew Ball. He revealed that Fortnite can now support up to 200 players in a single lobby! What an exciting development for the gaming community.
As a dedicated fan, I used to marvel at the thought of 200 players descending from the Battle Bus simultaneously in Fortnite. It felt like an unattainable fantasy. Yet, to my amazement, Epic Games has managed to turn this dream into a potential reality.

When Fortnite first came out, our servers could only support 100 players due to the computers in our data center being too sluggish at that time, according to Sweeney’s explanation.
In simpler terms, popular Battle Royale games like Warzone have large numbers of players in a single match. Therefore, one might wonder if Fortnite will follow suit by introducing battles with 200 players or if this is just a display of improved technological capabilities.
Will Fortnite ever have 200-player lobbies?
In Fortnite’s standard Battle Royale mode, having 200 players at once might be excessive. However, it’s likely that more players will join Zero Build mode.
An alternative possibility is that Fortnite might introduce a new game mode with 200 players in a single match. This appears to be a more plausible scenario.
In Fortnite, it’s undeniable that constructing structures consumes significant hardware resources. This issue becomes more pronounced in the competitive sphere where numerous players manage to survive till the late game, resulting in a multitude of complaints about lagging servers.

To ensure a seamless experience for 200 players in Fortnite, the game could limit this feature to Zero Build modes or non-competitive game types.
Fortnite has introduced distinctive game modes in the past. It’s feasible for a mode that can accommodate 200 players to exist within the game. We are aware that Fortnite has the ability to create such an experience currently.
