Formula 1: How to watch the Mexico City Grand Prix (race not on ESPN)

As a seasoned gamer who’s been through countless Grand Prix seasons, I can confidently say that this year has been nothing short of extraordinary! The return of Formula 1 races to ABC after a long hiatus was a breath of fresh air. The US Grand Prix at Circuit of the Americas was a thrilling race, and I couldn’t help but feel a sense of nostalgia as I watched it on my trusty old CRT TV (still going strong, by the way!).

On last Sunday afternoon, the United States Grand Prix at Circuit of the Americas marked ABC’s first broadcast of a Formula 1 race since the Canadian Grand Prix held at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve in early June.

Last weekend’s race at the Austin, Texas road course wasn’t the first North American event; it followed the Canadian Grand Prix, which took place earlier.

On a sunny afternoon this coming Sunday in Mexico City at Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez, the fourth of five races across the continent during the 2024 season, will air on ABC. Furthermore, the Mexico City Grand Prix, serving as the fifth and last race for ABC this year, is also scheduled to be broadcasted.

I’m tearing up the 2.674-mile, 17-turn Mexican road course for the 20th time this season, which happens to be part of a historic 24-race schedule that’s breaking records left and right. Mexico City, here I come!

Mexico City Grand Prix not being shown on ESPN

This coming weekend, just three out of the last four races of the season will air live on ESPN2, except for the Las Vegas Grand Prix scheduled for the Las Vegas Strip Street Circuit on November 24th. In simpler terms, only one race, the Las Vegas Grand Prix on November 24th, won’t be shown live on ESPN2 during the remaining four races of the season.

As a gamer, I’m gearing up for the grand finale! This event is the fifth and last one on the North American circuit, and it’s also the third and concluding one within the U.S. this season. Interestingly enough, it’s the 12th and final race that ESPN will be airing from their schedule for 2024.

In the U.S., regardless of whether a Grand Prix is broadcasted on ESPN, ESPN2, or ABC, it’s always the same Sky Sports coverage that’s shown, and this coverage is aired commercially free, courtesy of Mercedes-Benz.

The Mexico City Grand Prix will be airing live on ABC, starting at 3:55 p.m. ET this coming Sunday, October 27, from Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez. Three-time consecutive world champion Max Verstappen of Red Bull is also a three-time consecutive winner of this race. If you haven’t signed up for a free trial of FuboTV yet, do it today and catch all the excitement!
