Formula 1 driver not named Sergio Perez should be replaced before 2024 ends

As a die-hard Formula 1 fan with decades of racing passion under my belt, I can confidently say that Oliver Bearman is a breath of fresh air in this high-octane sport. His impressive performances for Ferrari and Haas this season have caught my attention and left me eagerly anticipating his continued success.

Could Oliver Bearman potentially take over from Kevin Magnussen in the remaining races of the 2024 Formula 1 season, given that he’s already been confirmed for Haas in the 2025 season?

Haas is enjoying arguably its most successful season so far, with plans to keep climbing. Guided by Ayao Komatsu, Haas is currently placed seventh in the constructor championship. The race for sixth place is intensifying as teams like Alpine and RB are also vying for it.

Guess-Magnussen has been facing difficulties since the previous season and consistently fallen short compared to Nico Hulkenberg. With only three races left, the Haas team leader might decide to make a change and keep Bearman as the permanent driver following his impressive 12th place finish in Brazil, stepping in for an unwell Magnussen.

All reward, no risk for Haas

It’s strategically sound when they decide to make the switch. They are swapping out an unreliable driver for a promising youngster who’s shown great skill so far. This change could significantly aid Haas in their pursuit of sixth place in the constructors’ championship.

Furthermore, an additional prize for improving positions would significantly aid the team, given their relatively limited financial resources compared to others on the grid. Given Aston Martin’s lackluster performance throughout most of the season, a strong showing from both drivers could see them vying for not just sixth place but even fifth position.

For Haas, it’s essential to give their 19-year-old driver more driving practice next year, as this will undoubtedly benefit them when we move into 2025. With Bearman and Esteban Ocon teaming up at Haas, they have a strong chance of competing for the fifth position in the championship next season.
