Formula 1: 2024 Italian Grand Prix qualifying updates, full starting lineup

As a seasoned Formula 1 fan with a decade-long journey behind me, I must admit, the 2024 season has been quite the rollercoaster ride – especially for Max Verstappen and Red Bull. The Dutchman’s winning streak of nine races seemed unbeatable last year, but this season, he’s yet to string together more than two victories in a row. It’s like watching a master chess player who can dominate the board one game, but suddenly finds themselves struggling against a novice the next.

Previously, Formula 1 made its stop at Monza when Max Verstappen was in the midst of an impressive nine-race winning streak, which put him on track for his third career championship. Remarkably, he broke records by clinching his tenth consecutive win and eventually securing a historic 19 victories throughout the season.

2024 season hasn’t run particularly well for the Dutch driver and Red Bull team, yet he maintains a considerable lead in the world championship rankings, boasting more victories than any other racer.

Despite having won multiple races this season, he hasn’t managed to secure more than two consecutive victories thus far. We are currently 15 races into a historic 24-race series. His longest losing streak stands at five races, which is his longest since 2020 when he had amassed nine wins; now, he has 61 career wins to his name.

1) In the last two Italian Grand Prix races, Verstappen emerged as the victor, but he never started from the first spot on the grid during either of those races. Interestingly, it has been five years since a driver starting from pole position won at Formula 1’s “Speed Temple,” which was when Charles Leclerc delivered Ferrari’s most recent win, and their only one since 2010, in their home race.
