Former Super Rugby Star’s $7.5M Gold Coast Mansion with Private Lake Hits the Market!
The opulent Gold Coast mansion, once belonging to retired Super Rugby player Mark Swanepoel, is back on the market with a hefty asking price of $7.495 million.
This luxurious countryside villa, equipped with a man-made pond, five bedrooms, and five bathrooms, first went up for sale in January 2024, priced at $8 million.
As a lifestyle connoisseur, I must say that this property takes inspiration from the majestic American lake houses, boasting a charming two-bedroom guesthouse and an exquisite studio apartment to complete its allure.
According to the Courier Mail, the home has been vacant for a year.
Nestled in the scenic hinterland, approximately 19 kilometers from the vibrant Gold Coast, lies a spacious three-hectare estate. This idyllic property boasts its own private lake beach, an exquisite feature crafted at a cost of one million dollars.
The lake has drinkable water, a BBQ area and fire pit, a waterfall and a jetty.

Crafted with ultimate comfort in mind, this primary residence boasts expansive living areas, stunning vistas, and high-end fittings all around.
As an over-the-moon enthusiast, let me share some of the fantastic features that have me absolutely smitten! This place boasts a stunning pool area perfect for a refreshing dip, not to mention a vibrant party deck where I can unwind with friends. The entertainment lounge, equipped with a sleek stone bar, promises endless fun and camaraderie. For movie buffs like myself, there’s a cinema with raised seating – picture-perfect for those cozy nights in! When it comes to unwinding and letting loose, the games retreat is just what I need. Last but not least, a private office space ensures I can maintain my productivity while still enjoying all these amazing amenities. Simply put, this place has me hooked!
Additionally, you’ll find an attractive, rustic-themed kitchen boasting vintage-inspired light fittings, a spacious walk-through pantry, and a substantial breakfast bar adorned with marbled countertops.
Other features include a large timber verandah which overlooks the lake.
The latest addition follows Swanepoel, who grabbed attention last year, as the Federal Court determined that his Cigno Australia lending firm had violated Credit Act rules.
The violations include acting without the required license and charging ‘prohibited fees’ on loans.
In my role as a lifestyle and investment advisor, I found myself in the position where the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) took a closer look at the operations of Cigno, a company I had the privilege of serving as a director.

In a subsequent hearing, it was revealed that Cigno, alongside its partner lending firm BSF Solutions, extended loans amounting to $34 million to approximately 100,000 individuals during the period spanning July 2022 to December 2022. The fees they collected exceeded $70 million over this same period.
In November the two companies appealed the Federal Court’s decision.
Judgement was reserved reported the Courier Mail.
Born in Johannesburg, South Africa, Swanepoel, 34, rose to fame as a leading rugby player.
He made his Super Rugby debut in 2010 with the Force. He later played for the Brumbies.
