Former nanny’s lawsuit accuses Neil Gaiman of human trafficking, rape, calling her ‘slave’
A lawsuit alleges that renowned British fantasy writer Neil Gaiman and his estranged wife, musician Amanda Palmer, have been charged with offenses such as human trafficking, sexual abuse, assault, and rape, concerning a former nanny of theirs.
As a former nanny, I have filed a lawsuit in a Wisconsin federal court, stating that my employer, Neil Gaiman, subjected me to brutal and repeated rape and sexual assault. I worked for this couple without pay. In addition, I accuse the other member of the household, Palmer, of human trafficking in this suit. I claim that Palmer was aware of the abuse I suffered at the hands of Gaiman but failed to intervene.
The legal case outlines an instance where it’s claimed that Mr. Gaiman engaged in a number of sexually inappropriate acts towards Ms. Pavlovich, which occurred without her consent. These incidents allegedly took place while she was fulfilling babysitting and nanny duties for their child in the year 2022.
The allegation states that Gaimin consistently subjected Scarlett to physical and emotional abuse, which included sexual assault both vaginally and anally, humiliating her, compelling her to perform sexual acts in front of his child, and forcing her to come into contact with feces and urine. Moreover, the complaint indicates that he referred to Pavlovich as a “slave” and demanded she address him as “master.
I’m asserting that the legal action alleges we deliberately withheld my wages, not for any fair reason, but rather to maintain my financial dependency and effectively hold me as an “economic captive.
According to the claim, Gaiman and Palmer planned to put Pavlovich in a precarious situation – powerless, broke, and with few defenses – so she wouldn’t be able to fight back or flee. As it turned out, their plan was successful.
Attempts to reach Gaiman and Palmer for comment were unsuccessful as they’re currently embroiled in a divorce and custody dispute, having parted ways in 2020.
Books
The renowned fantasy writer, Neil Gaiman, has refuted accusations of sexual misconduct brought forth by eight individuals, as reported in a striking article published by New York Magazine.
Previously, Neil Gaiman refuted all allegations of sexual misconduct in a blog entry he posted on his website on January 15th, after a report was published in New York Magazine that contained accusations of sexual assault from eight women, including Pavlovich, against the renowned author.
In a different look at the facts compared to accusations made – I find no evidence of any mistreatment or abuse occurring, stated Gaiman. “Let me make this clear: I have never participated in any sexually inappropriate behavior without consent.
Neil Gaiman’s books have been sold in over 50 million copies globally, with many of them being transformed for both film and television. In light of the accusations made by New York Magazine, publishing company Dark Horse Comics declared that they would discontinue printing his works “American Gods” and “Good Omens,” and also canceled the comic series for “Anansi Boys.
According to Pavlovich’s lawsuit, it claims that Gaiman has been involved in sexually inappropriate behavior for many years, which he has attempted to keep hidden.
According to the statement, Neil Gaiman has made various settlements, where he pays damages to women he allegedly wronged, with amounts reaching up to hundreds of thousands of dollars in certain instances.
The legal claim asserts that Palmer, a renowned American musician, acknowledged his past record of abuse but failed to safeguard Pavlovich following their introduction to Gaiman. Moreover, it claims that she was aware of Pavlovich’s financial instability, history of sexual trauma, and serious mental health issues.
In my own words, I’m sharing that I, as a supporter, am discussing a legal matter involving a couple. The lawsuit against this duo was initiated in Wisconsin, which happens to be one of Gaiman’s homes. Meanwhile, Pavlovich is involved in another lawsuit against Palmer; this one is being pursued simultaneously in New York and Massachusetts. The reasoning behind these locations is that Palmer is believed to own a residence in either state. As stated in the complaint, the choice of district for this case lies with Palmer.
In the year 2020, at the age of 22, Pavlovich had an encounter with Palmer in Auckland, New Zealand, as stated in the complaint.
Recently, Pavlovich found herself homeless and took refuge on the beach. Occasionally, she ran errands for Palmer, and also handled childcare and household tasks, yet none of these duties came with any payment as stated in the complaint.
According to Pavlovich, it was back in February 2022 when she was employed as a babysitter that Gaiman, who was 61 at the time, first sexually assaulted her while they were together.
Following the initial accusation of rape, Palmer proposed that Pavlovich take up a role as a live-in nanny, looking after their child at both Palmer’s and Gaiman’s homes on Waiheke Island close to Auckland. At that time, Pavlovich was struggling with housing and in dire need of stable employment and affordable accommodation, as stated in the complaint.
Entertainment & Arts
In a contrasting move, Dark Horse Comics finds itself at odds with the esteemed writer Neil Gaiman, who is currently grappling with accusations of sexual misconduct by several women.
64-year-old Gaiman is said to have pledged to leverage his significant influence in the literary industry to boost Pavlovich’s writing career. Subsequently, she agreed to take on the position.
For several months, it is claimed that Pavlovich was involved in repeated instances of rape and sexual abuse, yet he remained employed as a nanny, not receiving any payment for his work.
For over several months, there were allegations of ongoing rape and sexual abuse against Pavlovich, despite the fact that he continued to work without pay as a nanny during this time.
After completing her work for the couple, it wasn’t until several months later that she received payment. By then, she had already been hospitalized due to contemplating suicide, as stated in the complaint. The complaint further alleges that Gaiman’s mistreatment was responsible for these suicidal thoughts.
In the lawsuit, Pavlovich aims for both reparative and penal compensation, with a projected total exceeding $1 million, as stated in the legal document.
