Former Married At First Sight bride Basic teases shock return to the hit reality show

Previously known participant from “Married At First Sight,” Ines Basic, has sparked excitement among viewers as she hints at a possible comeback to the series that catapulted her into public recognition.

Known for her candid persona, the 34-year-old celebrity, who gained prominence during season six of the Channel Nine show in 2019, posted on Instagram yesterday, suggesting she might be walking down the aisle again.

She recently had her nails done for the first time in a while, as she’s about to get married, which she excitedly shared on her Story videos.

‘I’m going on MAFS again and so I got my bridal nail. So excited.’

Ines then dropped a cryptic hint about her future match.

She expressed the hope that they would grant her something… but she chose not to specify it, instead opting to remain silent. Moreover, she hinted at her curiosity about the kind of person she would encounter.

But fans shouldn’t get too excited just yet.

Initially, the attention-grabbing statements seemed to suggest a comeback, but industry insiders presume that the post was more about creating buzz and attracting media attention than it was an authentic declaration of return.

Due to strict confidentiality agreements preventing the revelation of participants’ identities on Channel Nine, it seems very improbable that Basic will be part of the MAFS cast for the 2026 season.

Additionally, they dismissed the persistent gossip about a special edition of the show featuring stars, clarifying that at present, there is no such project underway.

Regardless of persistent rumors and many ex-participants expressing interest, the show’s producers have clarified that they don’t have any active plans to invite previous contestants or famous personalities for a reunion.

In a statement given to Daily Mail Australia, executive producer Tara McWilliams clarified that while they have no current plans for it, they haven’t ruled out the possibility entirely, stating, “It’s not something we’ve ever considered before.

Previously serving executive producer John Walsh, who left the network recently, shared similar thoughts.

He shared with Daily Mail Australia that he doubts the event would occur, explaining that this skepticism likely stems from the fact that it may seem too unbelievable. He further noted that the allure of Married at First Sight lies in typical individuals performing extraordinary acts.

Following earlier reports this year, it has been announced that the proposed concept of a “Married at First Sight All-Stars” format, where participants from previous seasons would rejoin the experiment, has been rejected.

According to industry sources, it’s been reported that these popular figures, such as Cheryl Maitland from season four and Melissa Lucarelli from season six, were contacted by the producers to see if they might be interested in returning for future projects.

However, as reported by those in the know, the network opted to abandon this concept, choosing instead to remain faithful to the original show structure and introduce fresh talent for the 2026 season.

According to a production insider, it seemed that many of the returning participants were primarily focused on another chance at stardom rather than sincerely seeking romance. (Daily Mail Australia)

‘It just didn’t feel authentic anymore.’

A source mentioned that the program thrives when it features unrecognized actors, allowing for genuine, on-the-spot development of relationships and turmoil.

‘Viewers want to meet fresh faces and watch things unravel,’ the source said.

‘That’s the magic of MAFS.’

Despite whispers that Tahnee Cook might be joining the All-Stars lineup, she swiftly put those rumors to rest.

She recently stated, “I honestly can’t trace the origin of that rumor… I definitely wouldn’t consider returning.

‘I survived it once unscathed. I wouldn’t risk it again.’

Although Jamie Marinos and Carina Mirabile have hinted at a desire to rejoin the program or explore further TV roles, they might need to seek alternative formats to satisfy their appetite for reality programming.

For now, MAFS will return in early 2026 with a brand new cast and no familiar faces.

An announcement was made earlier this year about the upcoming Season 13, revealing that the shooting will occur from July to November 2025. At present, the producers are refining their list of potential bride and groom candidates.

Though some fans may be disheartened by the absence of a few beloved mischief-makers, behind-the-scenes sources assure us that the 2026 cast will continue to stir up just as much excitement and chaos.

‘There’s no shortage of drama – trust us. MAFS never fails to deliver,’ the source added.
