Isabel Webster recently shared details about parting ways with her longtime co-host, Eamonn Holmes, and GB News, as she embarks on a new venture: launching her own podcast.
Since 2022, the presenter, who is 42 years old, has been co-hosting the morning show on the channel alongside Eamonn, who is 65. However, unexpectedly, their tenure was terminated in December of the previous year.
Previously, it had been shared that I, being an ardent admirer, found myself in a situation where my cherished bond with GB News’ management deteriorated amidst contract discussions, ultimately leading to my departure.
The 32-year-old Ellie Costello took over hosting duties on the morning television program, as she is known within the organization as their “homegrown Holly Willoughby.
Currently, Isabel has discussed her upcoming departure and the conclusion of her professional association with long-time anchor Eamonn, as she initiates her new podcast titled “New Chapters.
‘The mother of two expressed her sentiment that the news topics have become progressively contentious and disheartening. She noted with concern that they are largely controlled by authoritarian figures such as Trump and Putin.’
She continued: ‘Taking a year away has transformed my health and my outlook.
Through New Chapters, I aim to pass on uplifting and inspiring dialogues that empower others to accept changes, even when they appear intimidating.
Since coming off air, Isabel has shed an impressive one-and-a-half stone.
On Isabel’s fresh podcast, you’ll find esteemed guests such as Kirsty Gallacher, a previous host on Sky Sports, Amanda Wakeley OBE, a designer who once worked for Princess Diana, and Tessa Hartmann CBE, a former Real Housewife.
When Isabel left GB News, it was said that she was unwilling to extend her workweek from three days to five days.
According to sources, she was displeased about being asked to work more on-screen, increasing her weekly appearances from three to five days. However, she resisted the pressure to comply with the demands made upon her.
Behind-the-scenes sources revealed that this particular issue had turned into a significant stumbling block during the negotiations, leading to undercurrents of strain.
Eamonn, clearly the leading figure in the show, enjoys taking the reins, and he’s excited about collaborating with up-and-coming star Ellie. As Ellie’s career unfolds, Eamonn anticipates playing a role in shaping her talent.
Responding to these claims at the time, A GB News spokesman said: ‘This is completely untrue.’
In the past few months, Isabel made a comeback, appearing on Vanessa Feltz’s program on Channel 5 to discuss Eamonn Holmes’ health issues.
65-year-old Eamonn has faced numerous health challenges lately following a spinal operation in the year 2022, making him dependent on a walking aid like a frame or a wheelchair.
During their tenure at GB News, Vanessa Feltz inquired of Isabel, “Was working with Eamonn Holmes enjoyable for you? Or should we say challenging rather than fun?
In my opinion, as a lifestyle enthusiast, I must say Eamonn Holmes has a witty and distinctly Irish humor that’s hard to ignore. His whole career, starting early at 3 am, is a testament to the fact that determination can lead to a unique blend of resilience and comedic charm.
Her remark prompted laughter from Vanessa and the panel, but Isabel swiftly explained her intended message. Alternatively, one could say, ‘His own words suggest this is what he meant!’
He’d likely admit it himself because it’s quite taxing on the body, and given his current health issues, that much is clear.
Previously, she had a professional collaboration with Eamonn during their shared hosting duties on Sky News’ Sunrise program. However, he decided to depart from the channel in 2016.
