Former Fox Sports Host Skip Bayless Accused of Sexual Misconduct in Lawsuit by Ex-Hairstylist
LOS ANGELES — In a legal claim, a woman employed as a hairstylist by Fox Sports accuses ex-host Skip Bayless of persistent, unwelcome advances, such as proposing a payment of $1.5 million for sexual encounters with him.
Legal representatives for hairstylist Noushin Faraji, who worked at Fox for over ten years, have initiated a legal action against Bayless, Fox Sports, and their umbrella company, Fox Corporation. They are claiming an undisclosed amount of compensation, as stated in the lawsuit filed on Friday at the California Superior Court in Los Angeles.
The allegation suggests that Fox executives created an unpleasant workplace atmosphere, where higher-ups and on-air figures like Bayless could mistreat staff members without facing any repercussions.
The Associated Press typically doesn’t reveal, through their writing or visual content, the identities of people claiming they were victims of sexual assault or mistreatment, except for those who have openly identified themselves, such as Faraji did when filing a lawsuit.
Lawyer Jared Levine, representing Bayless, failed to promptly respond to Associated Press’s calls and texts requesting a statement. Messages sent via email and phone to Bayless’s management agency also remained unanswered.
Bayless could not be reached directly for comment.
Fox Sports has expressed that they are giving the accusations careful consideration, however, due to an ongoing legal matter, they currently have no additional comments on the subject.
According to Faraji, Bayless’ progression, spanning from 2017 up until recently, encompassed persistent embraces, pecks on the cheek, and remarks suggesting that he could transform Faraji’s life if they engaged in a sexual relationship.
In a lawsuit filed in 2021, it’s alleged that Bayless proposed a sum of $1.5 million to Faraji in exchange for sexual acts. After she declined, he reportedly threatened her employment.
According to the lawsuit, Ms. Faraji understood that he was attempting to coerce her into sexual activity. However, she consistently asserted that she was a dedicated professional who needed to treat everyone with respect, regardless of their talent.
Bayless had been employed at Fox Sports up until 2024, when his program was terminated following a significant drop in ratings after the departure of his colleague, Shannon Sharpe.
In 2024, Faraji claimed she was let go due to false justifications. Her lawsuit stated that at first, she chose not to speak out about her experiences at Fox for fear of potential harm if she went public with the information.
The lawsuit further alleges that Fox employees did not receive their complete salaries, including overtime pay. It aims to acquire class-action status, representing other workers believed to have experienced similar issues.
In 2017 Fox Sports fired its head of programming amid a probe of sexual harassment allegations.
