Former Empire star’s friend REGRETS filing criminal charges against him after physical fight
Dustin ‘Chosen’ Wilkins, who initially accused Bryshere Y. Gray (formerly of Empire) of physically attacking him on June 13, has since expressed regret for filing a criminal charge against him at the magistrate’s office.
On June 15, the 31-year-old OnlyFans model voluntarily handed himself over to the Chesapeake Sheriff Office in Virginia. He was subsequently charged with a misdemeanor for allegedly assaulting and battery against a 36-year-old singer-actor.
As a dedicated follower, I’d rephrase it this way: Bryshere, who was apparently intoxicated, exited the Homewood Suites by Hilton in Chesapeake without settling his bill. Upon tracking him to the parking lot, he rammed into me with his shoulder and struck me while hiding behind a car, all while I was recording the incident on my phone.
Wilkins informed TMZ on Saturday that it wasn’t about a disagreement over payment; rather, it was because the individual in question had stopped taking his medication.
The focus wasn’t on imprisoning him; instead, it was about making him comprehend the repercussions of his actions. Moreover, in case he finds himself in such a position again, the judge could provide him with additional treatment rather than sending him to prison.
The performer who sang “Spotlight” expressed a sense of remorse for deciding to bring charges against Gray, whom he referred to as being more like his “younger sibling.

Chosen confessed that he wasn’t keen on imprisoning him, as he believed the other boys might exploit him if he ended up in jail.
‘I’ll make it clear; if he undergoes an evaluation and begins focusing on self-improvement, then we can consider dropping the charges. However, he needs to be stabilized first – whether that’s through inpatient or outpatient care is entirely his decision. Before this incident, I had no problems with him, and he was consistently adhering to his responsibilities.’
According to Wilkins, the actor-rapper known as ‘Yazz the Greatest’ has been dedicated to attending therapy sessions and adhering to his medication. He was indeed making significant progress, focusing intensely on his work. However, he was unfortunately distracted by attentions from overeager fans who kept offering him excessive amounts of alcohol.
The individual who covered Bryshere’s bail, even with a ‘no contact’ order, clarified: “I’m not aiming to be his father. I’m striving to be an exceptional friend because, whether you aspire for a career in entertainment or not, safety should always be prioritized.
Originally associated with them, Gray (who parted ways with his public relations team) and Wilkins were jointly overseeing and featuring in a reality series titled “The Starboys,” which centered around gay men in the entertainment sector. However, it appears that Gray has now distanced himself from this project.
The team from ‘thestarboystv’ refused permission for ‘thechosenshow’ to discuss their project with TMZ TV, as stated by spokesperson J. Christian on Saturday.
The creative decisions for this show are solely his, without affecting the rest of the cast or production. Contrary to some other shows, this production will steer clear of violence, focusing instead on men and gay men of color in a more positive light. However, there’s been an issue that has arisen, but it’s important to note that this project remains engaging and relatable, with its thought-provoking themes and passionate debates. It’s crucial to understand that this incident does not represent the views of @thestarboystv.
Originally from Philadelphia, this individual had a prior arrest in 2020 for aggravated assault of an unidentified woman who allegedly claimed to be his spouse. He received a sentence of ten days in the county jail and was placed on probation for three years.
Approximately two years following his initial conviction, reports suggest that Bryshere was taken into custody due to a potential violation of his probation. This alleged violation stemmed from his failure to disclose several encounters with the authorities as required by his probation terms.

Gray, set to appear in court this month, is predominantly recognized for his portrayal of the rebellious son Hakeem Lyon, played by Terrence Howard and Taraji P. Henson’s characters in the prime-time musical drama Empire, created by Lee Daniels and Danny Strong. This series ran for six seasons on Fox from 2015 to 2020.
In 2019, Jussie Smollett, who had previously been disgraced from his cast, asserted that he was attacked by two individuals claiming to be supporters of Donald Trump. However, these individuals turned out to be his former personal trainers, the Osundairo Brothers. They alleged that Smollett had hired them to pour bleach on him and put a noose around his neck as part of an effort to increase his celebrity status.
43-year-old individual, who was found guilty of staging a hate crime, served merely six days out of his 150-day sentence for five counts of disorderly conduct before the Illinois Supreme Court overturned his conviction on November 21. This decision was made because he had a favorable plea agreement with Kim Fox, the Cook County State’s Attorney.
Instead of reimbursing the city of Chicago its $120,106 in restitution, Jussie initially covered his $10,000 bond, performed 15 hours of community service, and later made donations totaling $60,000: $50,000 to the Building Better Futures Center for the Arts and $10,000 to the Chicago Torture Justice Center.
Besides being recognized for his roles, Bryshere is also famed for his portrayal of the actual band member Michael Bivins from Chris Robinson’s three-episode mini-series “The New Edition Story,” which was broadcast on BET in 2017.
Gray, with a massive following of approximately 8.5 million on social media platforms, remains quite lively on his OnlyFans profile, at present providing complimentary subscriptions.
