Currently, Dani Harmer, a previous colleague, has disclosed a troubling development about her Perimenopause diagnosis.
Speaking candidly about the impact it had on her, Dani shared with Ben Shephard and Catherine Deeley on This Morning: “I felt like an entirely changed individual. In all honesty, this transformation happened not long after I became a mother.
It wasn’t entirely clear to me if what I was experiencing was related to baby blues or hormonal changes, as my behavior felt significantly altered.
It felt oddly as if I were an observer of myself. My struggle with depression and anxiety had been longstanding, but this experience transcended those familiar feelings; it was more intense, almost alien.
‘The mood swings were out of control.’
Dani mentioned that her sleep patterns were irregular and she experienced mental cloudiness, which she admitted impacted her performance as an actor.
In a woman’s 40s, it’s common for perimenopause to commence, a phase characterized by the gradual decrease in estrogen production by the ovaries over time.
