Stream “Mrs Biggs,” a captivating ITV drama featuring Sheridan Smith and Daniel Mays as the main characters, right now on Netflix!
The five-part drama, penned by Jeff Pope in collaboration with Charmian Biggs herself, serves as a narrative adaptation of their true-life story. Charmian Biggs, played by Mays and Smith, provided insights for the series, depicting the relationship between train robber Ronnie Biggs and his wife.
The show initially premiered on ITV back in 2012, with Pope stating that it was one of the most significant unspoken tales of the 20th century.
Previously, Daniel Mays expressed his desire to portray the topic accurately, given Charmian’s role in the production.
He stated earlier that not only are you portraying a character who actually lived, but one who is deeply familiar to the general public. This means that everyone has preconceived ideas and judgments about this person. He admitted feeling rather apprehensive regarding the undertaking of this project.

Speaking about collaborating with Sheridan Smith, whom he referred to as incredibly talented, Mays commented: “She is among the most naturally gifted actresses I have ever had the pleasure of working beside.
She’s extraordinarily skilled in technical aspects, and she truly excelled during the show. I found working with her immensely enjoyable.
The audience appeared captivated by the play. Despite not having a large number of reviews on IMDb, one enthusiast labeled it as “engrossing,” expressing that they found themselves drawn into the plot and “unable to look away.
One audience member commended Sheridan Smith’s “impressively excellent acting” and described the story as an “enjoyable ride.” They ultimately deemed it a “superb” television series.

Although Mrs. Biggs can be found as a box set on ITVX, this ’60s-drama is also streamable on Netflix, which describes it as both thrilling and a representation of the period.
It adds to the ITV collection on the platform, featuring shows like Cilla, starring Sheridan Smith, as well as The Walk-In with Stephen Graham, and more recently, Loch Ness, starring Siobhan Finneran and Don Gilet.
Mrs Biggs aired on ITV and is now on ITVX and Netflix.
The latest print issue from Digital Spy, featuring Oasis – Live in ’25, is available now! You can purchase it at your local newsagent or online for only £8.99.
