A lost Agatha Christie mystery, Agatha and the Truth of Murder, is now available to stream in the UK. The film, set in the 1920s, features the famous author getting caught up in a genuine murder investigation.
This drama, written by Tom Dalton, features Ruth Bradley as Christie, a detective investigating the surprising death of Florence Nightingale’s niece. As she goes undercover, Christie encounters several interesting and suspicious people, all of whom had a reason to want the young woman dead.
I’m totally hooked! The author just vanished for eleven days, and now the whole country is looking for her. I’m seriously on the edge of my seat wondering if she’ll crack the case before someone figures out who she really is.
What to Read Next
I just found out that Agatha and the Truth of Murder, which first aired on Channel 5 back in 2018, is now streaming on Prime Video in the UK! I’m excited to finally check it out.
The cast includes Dean Andrews from Emmerdale, Bebe Cave, Blake Harrison known for The Inbetweeners, Pippa Haywood, Ralph Ineson who starred in Harry Potter, and Samantha Spiro and Michael McElhatton from Game of Thrones alongside Bradley.

When the movie was first released, it got mostly good reviews on IMDb, with many people calling it terrific, entertaining, and wonderful.
One viewer called the story enjoyable and easy to watch, praising its beautiful costumes and cinematography, as well as the actors’ performances. They specifically highlighted Ruth Bradley as a charming Christie, caught in a difficult situation – she doesn’t want to divorce her husband, but he’s fallen in love with another woman.

One viewer said the acting, sets, and costumes were all excellent, but the story was a bit too straightforward. They recommended watching it for entertainment, but cautioned not to expect anything overly complex.
Someone else commented that this is a playful and enjoyable story. Writer Tom Dalton and director Terry Loane have created a delightful murder mystery in the style of Agatha Christie, but with Christie herself taking center stage as the main character.
One viewer commented that the story wasn’t amazing, but still fun to watch. They especially enjoyed seeing the author of the famous Poirot and Marple mysteries take center stage herself!
The latest issue of Living Legends is now available! You can purchase Ariana & Witches at newsstands or online for only £8.99.
