As a lifestyle expert, I find myself deeply moved and inspired by the resilience and strength of Kellie Finlayson. Her courage and determination to live life to the fullest despite her battle with stage 4 bowel and lung cancer is truly commendable.

On Friday night, Kellie Finlayson, partner of AFL player, graced the John Cahill Medal event with her stunning appearance.

A 28-year-old individual, fighting against stage 4 bowel and lung cancer, posted a sequence of photos on Instagram while preparing herself at home for an upcoming event.

She dressed to impress in a long black gown which featured a sheer design at the front.

The mother-of-three, who is married to Port Adelaide star Jeremy Finlayson, also 28, completed her stunning look with a bright red lip.

As I prepared for tonight’s event alongside my AFL star spouse, I gathered my long, rich brown tresses and pulled them up high into a sleek ponytail, standing confidently within the comfort of our shared home.

Jeremy also looked dapper in a black tuxedo, white buttoned shirt and black dress shoes.

After Kellie shared her struggle against terminal cancer in an emotionally moving conversation on the Head Game podcast hosted by Ant Middleton on Nova, the event took place.

The mother-of-one bravely told listeners she did not want her life to to be ‘defined by her disease’.

Kellie remarked, “If I’m still around, why not make the best of it? Time is loaned to me; I must make every moment count.

Kellie emphasized that she felt accomplishment in successfully living with cancer, and she vowed to face each day as it came, dealing with her illness and its complications.

‘I’m still advocating for this disease that I’m quite literally being treated for,’ she said.

I continue to manage my parenting role quite effectively. For the majority of cases, I am carrying out the usual responsibilities expected of any parent, and I believe that taking things one day at a time might not be fair to myself or my child.

It seems I have a purpose for being here. If I am indeed alive, then I ought to truly live. I feel like I’m living on an extended lease, and I must seize every moment.

Kellie and Jeremy recently sold their Adelaide home for a price well above their expectations.

In August, the pair shared that they were putting their home up for sale in order to find a new residence better equipped to offer Kellie personal care at home.

As a devoted admirer, I want to share that this influential figure has bravely taken on a battle against both bowel and lung cancer since her diagnosis, which occurred in November 2021 – just after the arrival of their beautiful daughter, Sophia.

After her original stage 3 diagnosis got worse, she went through multiple operations and rounds of chemotherapy.

In July, she sadly announced that due to the cancer’s resurgence, she needed to restart chemotherapy treatment immediately, as it had grown back following her decision to discontinue chemotherapy and radiotherapy in favor of more natural and alternative methods.

At an auction, the pair successfully disposed of their property for a cool million dollars, with the opening bid set at seven hundred thousand. The price soon escalated rapidly.

The home attracted plenty of interest and was eventually sold to a local buyer.

They bought the house in May 2022 and hoped to make it their home for many years.

Kellie shared with Adelaide Now that she had been longing for a traditional home, specifically a villa with wooden flooring, and to her delight, the one she found was in excellent shape.

We have the largest outdoor space imaginable, and our plan was to expand it, yet due to health concerns, that ambition couldn’t be realized.

Due to Kellie’s persistent health issue, the couple finds themselves requiring additional space for her care and are now on the hunt for a suitable rental home.

‘This was to be our forever home, but I guess life had other plans,’ Kellie said.

This year in January, Kellie decided to discontinue her chemotherapy and radiotherapy sessions, instead choosing to rely on natural remedies and alternative healthcare methods.

Sadly, the severity of her cancer battle made that impossible.

In her TikTok post, Kellie explained that cancer, particularly relapsed cancer, tends to grow at an alarming rate. So, if even the slightest growth – less than a millimeter – is detected in scans over a few months, it’s a sign that the cancer is active and action needs to be taken promptly.

Typically, after a meeting with my oncologist, he would say we’ll continue monitoring. However, today was different.

Next week, I’ll be visiting a surgeon and a radiotherapist to explore all available treatment paths before considering another round of chemotherapy.

As a fortunate individual, I find myself responding positively to chemotherapy treatments, yet I can’t help but express my discomfort with this journey. After all, while it’s effective in my case, chemotherapy is still an undesirable experience that I wouldn’t wish for anyone.

Kellie is optimistic about being able to deal with her illness using potential treatments, which could enable her to live for several more years.

So as the cancer remains under control, I have hope for a lengthy lifespan and am looking forward to witnessing Sophia’s 21st birthday.

I eagerly look forward to witnessing her first day at school. It seems distant yet, but it’s farther off than I initially expected following the diagnosis. (Paraphrased)
