Football Manager 25 Has Been Delayed to March 2025

As a dedicated gamer with over two decades of Football Manager under my belt, I’ve weathered many storms and delays in this beloved series. However, this news about Football Manager 25 being pushed back to March 2025 feels like an extra-time penalty in the final match of the Champions League.

SEGA, along with developer Sports Interactive, have officially postponed the release of Football Manager 25 to March 2025. The unveiling of the game’s gameplay has been rescheduled for January.

As stated by SI, the postponement is intended to provide the studio with additional time to ensure they deliver an exceptional experience for the initial installment of Football Manager, one that matches both your expectations and the developer’s rigorous standards.

As a devoted fan, I can’t help but share some exciting news about Football Manager 25! In an update on their official site, Sports Interactive has announced that they’ve made the tough decision to slightly push back the game’s release due to meticulous planning and collaboration with SEGA, our licensors, and partners. The new release date is now set for March 2025. More specific platform launch dates will be revealed once finalized.

It appears that the delay in releasing Football Manager 25 is primarily due to its transition to the Unity engine, which Sports Interactive believes will bring “the most significant technological and visual upgrade in the series for a long time”. Pushing out the game’s initial November release date could potentially undermine this vision for FM 25. Sports Interactive explained, “Unfortunately, we find ourselves in a position seven weeks before our planned release that none of us anticipated being in. However, adhering to our studio values, we always focus on the bigger picture – and the bigger picture here is that we need this extra time to develop a game that we can all take pride in.” They acknowledged that this delay will undoubtedly be disheartening for fans, and they express their shared disappointment and apologies.

Claiming refunds is an option for individuals who have already pre-ordered the game. The Football Manager 25 Console is set to launch on both Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 around March 2025, along with the PC/Mac version, FM 25 Mobile, and a handheld version titled FM 25 Touch for Nintendo Switch.

Instead of releasing Football Manager 25 this year, we’ve chosen to postpone it to March 2025.
