Fool Me Once star joins Ruth Wilson for new conspiracy drama
As a seasoned gamer and a voracious consumer of all things entertainment, I can hardly contain my excitement about the upcoming projects featuring Ruth Wilson! The British actress is set to star in not one but two highly anticipated productions – “Down Cemetery Road” on Apple TV+ and “A Very Royal Scandal” on Prime Video.
Actor Adeel Akhtar, who starred in “Fool Me Once,” is set to appear in the cast of Ruth Wilson’s forthcoming mystery series titled “Down Cemetery Road.”
The upcoming Apple TV+ series, based on the novel of the same name by “Slow Horses” author Mick Herron, is set to feature Wilson and Academy Award-winning actress Emma Thompson. In this show, they will portray two characters who join forces to investigate the vanishing of a young girl, leading them deep into a tangled web of intrigue.
As a gamer, I’m thrilled to share that Akhtar is hopping on board with ten other talented actors for this upcoming project! Among them are Nathan Stewart-Jarrett from Femme, Tom Goodman-Hill who starred in Baby Reindeer, Darren Boyd, the leading man of Tryin’, and Tom Riley known for his role in The Woman in the House. This is shaping up to be a fantastic ensemble!
Alongside them, Adam Godley (“The Great”), Sinead Matthews (“The Power”), Ken Nwosu (“The Winter King”), Fehinti Balogun (“A Gentleman in Moscow”), and Aiysha Hart (“We Are Lady Parts”) will also make appearances.
The summary for ‘Down Cemetery Road’ goes like this: “A house blows up in a peaceful Oxford neighborhood, leaving a girl missing. Neighbor Sarah Tucker (Wilson) becomes fixated on finding her and recruits the assistance of private investigator Zoë Boehm (Thompson).”
Zoë and Sarah unexpectedly stumble upon a complicated plot that uncovers the shocking truth: some individuals thought to be deceased are actually alive, and many more are rapidly approaching their end.
In another project, Wilson will be seen sharing the screen with Michael Sheen on Amazon Prime Video’s “A Very Royal Scandal.”
The forthcoming series will present the real-life events surrounding BBC journalist Emily Maitlis (Wilson), as she successfully arranged an interview with Prince Andrew (Sheen) for Newsnight, to discuss his relationship with Jeffrey Epstein and the sexual abuse accusations leveled against him by Virginia Giuffre, in a dramatic retelling.
In addition to the three-act play, performers like Joanna Scanlan, Alex Jennings, Éanna Hardwicke, and Claire Rushbrook are also included in the cast.
