Food Network star Anne Burrell’s cause of death is revealed five weeks after her shock passing at 55

It has been disclosed that the reason for Food Network celebrity Anne Burrell’s demise, which occurred five weeks ago at age 55, is now known.

On Thursday, People confirmed that the celebrity chef tragically died by suicide.

The New York City medical examiner’s office found that she died from a severe reaction caused by the combined influence of diphenhydramine, alcohol, cetirizine, and amphetamines.

In my professional perspective, I’d like to clarify that diphenhydramine and cetirizine fall under the category of antihistamines. Ethanol, a key component in alcoholic beverages, serves a different role. Lastly, amphetamine is often utilized for addressing Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).

Earlier this month, Burrell, known for hosting Secrets of a Restaurant Chef and co-hosting Worst Cooks in America, was tragically discovered deceased within her Brooklyn residence on a Tuesday.

A well-known chef from Food Network was discovered semi-conscious and unresponsive in a bathed state, with around 100 various pills nearby, as reported by documents from the New York Police Department (NYPD) reviewed by The New York Times.

Medical responders rushed to the shared residence between her and her husband, Stuart Claxton, yet sadly, she was declared deceased upon their arrival.

On June 20th, an official representative from the city’s medical examiner’s office announced that the autopsy of Burrell had been finalized; however, the precise reason behind her passing is yet to be determined.

According to reports, Claxton supposedly saw his wife alive around 1 AM the previous night. Later, approximately six to seven hours afterward, he found her unconscious in the bathroom.

This week, it was announced that EMS teams tried CPR on Burrell, but unfortunately, they were unable to bring her back.

The family released a statement saying: ‘Anne was cherished as a dear wife, sibling, daughter, stepmother, and companion. Her smile always brightened any space she walked into.’

‘Anne’s brilliance reached well beyond her circle of acquaintances, affecting countless individuals worldwide. Even though she is gone, the warmth of her heart, the essence of her soul, and her unending love live on eternally.’

A representative from Food Network stated, “Anne was an extraordinary individual and gifted chef – she taught, competed, and consistently emphasized the significance of food in her existence, as well as the delight that a scrumptious dish can provoke.

‘Our thoughts are with Anne’s family, friends and fans during this time of tremendous loss.’

In the final hours before she passed away, Burrell had recently done an impromptu performance at a comedy club in Brooklyn, having completed courses at their training center previously.

In an earlier podcast this year, she discussed with Tori Spelling her decision to take classes and her intentions to explore new opportunities.)

She mentioned that she recently enrolled in acting lessons. Specifically, she began them yesterday. To be more precise, it’s an improvisation class for actors.

Upon arrival, I found myself in a classroom with around eight individuals. Among us, I am the eldest. Most of the others seem to boast about their Master’s degrees in Fine Arts, specifically in Theater.

When I arrived at the class, there were roughly eight people present. Compared to them, I am the oldest student. The majority of the others appear to be proudly discussing their Master’s degrees in Theatre, which they earned from a Fine Arts program.

Burrell displayed her well-known self-awareness and wit, making light of the age difference she shared with her peers, a characteristic her followers recognize well.

She said: ‘I’m like, “okay, I’ve never taken an acting class. I don’t know, this is new to me.”

I sometimes ponder if these charming and exceptionally skilled children might think, “Why is this elderly woman present here?” in a casual and understandable manner.

During season 28, the popular TV host decided to step away from Worst Cooks in America, a move that left numerous fans puzzled. At that point, she was questioned about the reasons behind this choice, with Anne Burrell, aged 52, being one of them.

Burrell replied: “Yes, I can cook and appear on TV, but there’s more to me than that. I have other aspirations in life.

She also admitted that she was just ‘dipping my toe’ when it came to the pivot to acting.

Burrell shared his enthusiasm by saying, “I’m really looking forward to it! I have a couple more projects in the works that I can’t reveal just yet, but they promise to be quite thrilling.
