FNATIC drops head coach and updates on Leo’s health condition
In their latest announcement, FNATIC shared that their current head coach is leaving due to the team’s failure to secure a spot at the VALORANT Masters Bangkok 2025 tournament.
Following their unsuccessful bid for the VALORANT Masters Bangkok 2025 qualification, FNATIC opted to sever ties with their head coach, Chris “Elmapuddy” Tebbit. This decision was made public through a video announcement shared on their official social media platform.
FNATIC’s new head coach
To date, no details have been disclosed about the individual taking over from Elmapuddy during Split 1. This team member has been part of the squad since 2023 and achieved two victories: Red Bull Home Ground #4 and VALORANT Champions Tour (VCT) 2024 Stage 2 in the Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) region. Later, he was shifted to the inactive roster. Elmapuddy has already expressed his thoughts on his X page, accepting responsibility for the team’s performance and expressing gratitude towards his teammates and fans for the memorable experiences shared together.
FNATIC “has a solid group that can still achieve a lot”
The update emphasized building the roster’s self-assurance and resilience, regardless of not making it to the first global tournament this year. FNATIC team director Colin “CoJo” Johnson singled out Kajetan “kaajak” Haremski as a premier duelist and Austin “crashies” Roberts as an important team contributor. He underscored that the current FNATIC lineup is a strong unit capable of achieving more in the future, despite facing numerous challenges. Additionally, he expressed gratitude to the fans for their unwavering backing.
Leo’s health update
Due to the persistent requests from fans for updates regarding Leo “Leo” Jannesson’s health status, FNATIC has decided to provide some information. The team reports that they are continuing to closely watch Leo’s condition, but unfortunately, he won’t participate in Stage 1. In his place, Crashies will remain on the official roster.
Last August, during a live broadcast by Patiphan “CigaretteS” Posri, Boaster shared that his teammate Leo had been dealing with Long COVID. This health issue can persist in some individuals even after they’ve recovered from the initial virus infection. As reported by Boaster, Leo was experiencing severe fatigue and dizziness. In December, FNATIC decided to bring on crashies as a temporary replacement for Leo while he recovers.
