Fly Me to the Moon is now available to watch at home
As a seasoned gamer and space enthusiast with a penchant for historical fiction, I must say that “Fly Me to the Moon” has certainly piqued my interest. The drama, set against the backdrop of the 1960s space race, seems like an intriguing blend of reality and imagination.
You can stream “Fly Me to the Moon” right at home, provided you’re based in the United States.
The movie featuring Scarlett Johansson and Channing Tatum premiered in theaters last July, and it’s now available for streaming on Prime Video.
You have the option to rent this in Ultra High Definition (UHD), High Definition (HD), or Standard Definition (SD) for $19.99, or you can purchase it across all three formats for $24.99.
While it is currently only available in the US, a UK home release should be announced soon.
Under the guidance of director Greg Berlanti, the film titled “Fly Me to the Moon” is a fictional account, unfolding in the era of the intense competition between nations during the 1960s space race.
In this role, Johansson portrays Kelly Jones, a marketing expert, assigned to enhance NASA’s reputation before the historic Apollo 11 moon landing.
Yet, the arrival of Jones poses challenges for NASA launch director Cole Davis (Tatum), making an already complicated job even more so as the countdown commences.
Fly Me to the Moon plays with the decades-old conspiracy theory that the moon landing was faked.
Filmmaker Berlanti secured approval from NASA and had the opportunity to shoot scenes at Cape Canaveral, Florida, where the movie was filmed.
Regardless of the fictitious nature of the narrative, Berlanti meticulously crafted an authentic appearance for it.
He explained to Entertainment Weekly that each detail, including the headsets as well as every button and control on every computer, was carefully attended to.
During our filming, there were quite a few individuals present who had been at the initial launch. As they entered the firing chamber, they seemed to be transported back in time, and their eyes filled with tears due to the strong sense of nostalgia.
You can purchase or rent “Fly Me to the Moon” immediately on Amazon Prime within the United States. An official release date for the UK is expected to be announced shortly.
