Pugh spoke to The Associated Press, stating, “No one can surpass Tom Cruise, but what has he achieved? He has motivated me by 100%. I’m not sure if anyone will ever be as talented as he is, and his regard for the stunt world is something that has enlightened many.”

She also emphasized, “Given that numerous experts were ensuring it was as secure as possible for me, why wouldn’t I want to perform a daring stunt? I leaped from it, and I’m thankful I did. Am I going to pilot helicopters and airplanes like him? No, I’m not as skilled in that regard. However, I’m grateful for the opportunity to have participated in this particular endeavor.

Regarding the film Thunderbolts, director Jake Schreier expressed in August 2023 that it offered a unique approach and an unprecedented story. At the time, he stated, “This was a distinctive method and a fresh tale to share amidst all they’ve already produced at Marvel Studios. While these characters have been seen before, it’s not a sequel. Instead, it’s a new narrative with a perspective that might not be as anticipated, and I believe that this sense of surprise and challenge made it an appealing project to undertake.
