Florence Pugh’s forgotten thriller is now available to watch on Prime Video

As a devoted cinephile who’s been following Florence Pugh’s illustrious career since her early days, I must say that revisiting “The Commuter” now feels like stumbling upon a hidden gem. While it may have been overshadowed by her later blockbusters, her portrayal of Gwen in this movie is a testament to her versatility as an actress.

Florence Pugh’s thriller The Commuter has become available to watch on Prime Video.

In the 2018 Liam Neeson film, the role played by the star as Gwen, an early and lesser-known part in her career, has been mostly overshadowed.

Prime Video users can now watch the movie for free on the streaming service.

The storyline revolves around an individual who unknowingly gets drawn into a complex web of a murder plot, following a chance encounter with a secretive woman during his daily commute.

In addition to Neeson and Pugh, the film also features stars such as Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson from The Conjuring, Jonathan Banks known for Breaking Bad, and Sam Neill, a familiar face from Jurassic Park.

Man, I’ve got to admit, Pugh has truly shone brightly since we last played together. She’s graced the screens in blockbusters like Black Widow, Oppenheimer, and even Dune: Part Two! Not to mention, she nabbed an Oscar nod for her role in Little Women. Impressive stuff, right?

In the near future, she will appear in the romantic drama titled “We Live in Time” alongside Andrew Garfield. The storyline follows a pair who connect unexpectedly and traverse through several decades as their relationship unfolds.

The movie has already attracted a strong Rotten Tomatoes rating, earning an 88% score after positive reviews from critics.

Recently, Pugh shared that she decided to shave her head specifically for the film, following her public unveiling of the new hairstyle at the Met Gala.

She reminded Vanity Fair that she had never suggested, during her entire lifetime, that a strange online gossip existed about her doing something for the purpose of reclaiming her identity. This is not something she has ever said or believed.

In response to the underlying cause, Pugh shared that it was decided following a conversation with director John Crowley, who recommended she don a wig instead of getting a haircut.

She recounted, “I abruptly interrupted him during his speech and said something like, ‘John, no actor could embody such a character in a film like this without performing the necessary actions.’ If you’re unwilling to do it, I think you shouldn’t be part of a storyline like this.

The Commuter is streaming now on Prime Video.
