Pugh reprises her role from 2021’s “Black Widow” as Yelena Belova. Joining her in the cast are Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes, David Harbour as Red Guardian, and Olga Kurylenko as Taskmaster.
In conversation with Fandango, Pugh expressed that she reached out to Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige, advocating for the opportunity to perform her own stunts when she discovered her stunt double was handling a particularly daunting scene.
In this particular setting, the character portrayed by Pugh leaps off the edge of the Merdeka 118, an impressive structure that happens to be the second highest building globally, towering an astonishing 2,722 feet above the ground.

Pugh clarified that he had read all the emails. It was part of the plan, but as we approached shooting, they informed us that they doubted it would take place due to an unusual insurance issue, and clearly, they weren’t going to endanger me by tossing me off the second tallest building in the world.
She exclaimed something like, “‘Really? Absolutely! It’s necessary.’, she continued, sharing how she ultimately managed to persuade Feige to allow her to perform the stunt.

She enthusiastically expressed her thoughts, writing emails to Kevin [Feige], suggesting that it would greatly benefit the press tour if they attempted something extraordinary. Specifically, she proposed that they aim to set three separate Guinness World Records with three different women, outlining specific strategies for achieving their goals.
They offered me a daring challenge – they suggested I leap from the second tallest building if I desired. Though I’m not afraid of heights and even find them appealing, this proposition was an entirely new level of madness. The mental fortitude I had to summon that day was almost superhuman.
Thunderbolts* will be released in UK cinemas on 1 May, and US cinemas on 2 May.
