Flavor Flav wants to make a bronze clock necklace for Jordan Chiles, whose heart is a bit broken

As a movie buff with a soft spot for underdog stories and a deep appreciation for resilience, I find myself moved by Jordan Chiles’ journey at the Olympics. Despite the heartbreaking turn of events with her bronze medal being stripped away, she remains undeterred, showcasing an indomitable spirit that is truly inspiring.

1. For U.S. gymnast Jordan Chiles, the Olympics have brought some tough times as she lost her bronze medal due to a decision made by the International Olympic Committee. After a ruling from the Court of Arbitration for Sport over the weekend, it was determined that her initial fifth-place score in the women’s floor final would be reinstated. In response, Chiles shared four broken heart emojis on Instagram.

But Flavor Flav hopes to mend at least one of Chiles’ broken tickers with a ticker of his own.

Known for his timepiece necklaces, the rapper announced he will craft a bronze replica specifically for Chilean athletes. On a recent Sunday post, Flavor Flav pledged to design a personalized necklace for the gymnast.

Hey there @ChilesJordan! I’m planning to create a unique bronze clock necklace for you – something no one else has. Reach out to me, my friend, and I’ll make it happen for you!

Here’s the beef around Chiles’ medal, in brief:

Chile edged out Ana Bărbosu of Romania to secure the third position in the August 5th competition, thanks to a re-evaluation initiated by the U.S. shortly following her performance. Initially, her score positioned her fifth, but she climbed up to third place as a result of this review.

However, the Romanian Gymnastics Federation stated that the inquiry arrived after the due date, and the arbitration court sided with Romania. Consequently, the IOC has awarded the bronze medal to Bărbosu. Yet, USA Gymnastics announced on Sunday their intention to file a fresh appeal.

Meanwhile, Flavor Flav decided Chiles was more than deserving of one of his custom necklaces.

The Public Enemy rapper has been quite vocal with his support for U.S. women’s sports teams.

At the Olympics, the rapper earned the title of the team’s official cheerleader (or hype man) for the U.S. women’s water polo squad, following a request made by team captain Maggie Steffens on Instagram seeking backing.

“Steffens commented that while women’s water polo isn’t always a widely recognized or favored sport, she emphasized its importance. She expressed that support from others means everything to them and significantly impacts their game more than one might think. In essence, they view all of you as the hidden strength behind their team, a support they truly feel and deeply require!”

The “Fight the Power” rapper responded to Steffens’ post, commenting, “AYYY YOOO, as a girl dad and supporter of all women’s sports – imma personally sponsor you my girl,” Flav wrote. “Whatever you need. And imma sponsor the whole team. My manager is in touch with your agent and imma use all my relationships and resources to help all y’all even more. That’s a FLAVOR FLAV promise.”

Flav was in Paris, where he cheered on multiple American sports teams, donning his timepiece pendant as always.

Following her triumph at the Olympics where she secured her first individual medal (a bronze one) on Monday, Chile announced her plans to rejoin UCLA, sharing this news on the “Today” show.

As a former UCLA student myself, I can wholeheartedly say that it brings a sense of nostalgia and excitement to hear Chiles announce his return to the Bruins for the next two years. Having spent some of my own formative years in Pauley Pavilion, I can imagine the passion and dedication he must feel towards his alma mater. The anticipation among fans is palpable, as we eagerly await his presence on the court once again. It’s truly inspiring to see athletes like Chiles who value their education and are committed to representing their school with honor and pride. Go Bruins!
