The Flappy Bird Foundation has declared the revival of the timeless side-scrolling arcade game known as Flappy Bird, now accessible on Android via the Epic Games Store following an absence of a decade. The news of its comeback was shared in September 2024, following the acquisition of rights by the Flappy Bird Foundation for free distribution.
Flap your way through the challenging pipes once again in Flappy Bird
The well-known game ‘Flappy Bird’, initially developed by the creator Dong Nguyen, is once again available on mobile devices, although it’s being distributed through a different company this time. In the revamped version of Flappy Bird, players can continue to navigate obstacles in the Classic setting or embark on new adventures in the newly introduced Quest mode.

It’s great to have the game back, but here’s an important note: the original creator, Dong, isn’t involved in this new project. Intriguingly, he didn’t receive any earnings from its revival. The trademark for the game had lapsed and was acquired by Gametech Holdings, LLC, without offering him any financial remuneration.
Moving forward with our discussion about the game, you’ll encounter a diverse array of fresh characters such as Tekno, a mechanical avian creature, and Quirky, endowed with a unicorn’s horn. Furthermore, you have the freedom to personalize these characters and traverse through an assortment of novel worlds and stages.
This time it won’t feature any Web-3 elements, and will be monetised via in-game ads and purchases
As a gaming enthusiast, I must share my thoughts on the recent release of our favorite game. Previously, the developers attempted to roll out the game with Web-3 features, but it didn’t sit well with our community. This time around, they decided to launch it as a traditional Web-2 title. The monetization strategy this time is through in-game advertisements and purchasing helmets that act as extra lives for us players.
If you’re yearning to revisit past memories, much like myself, or if you’re about to embark on a fresh adventure, this latest iteration seems captivating with its innovative gameplay, diverse worlds, intriguing challenges, and rich content. I hope they eliminate in-game advertisements in the future, as they can be quite bothersome.
The popular game, Flappy Bird, has made its way onto Android devices! You can grab a copy of the game at no cost from the Epic Games Store. The creators have hinted that they’re working on bringing it to other platforms as well, but they haven’t given us any further details just yet. Keep an eye out for future updates!
