‘Five Nights at Freddy’s’ Returns in New Sequel Trailer
If I were in your shoes, I probably wouldn’t go back to Freddy’s for another night, let alone multiple nights. To be honest, it seems unlikely that I would visit for five more nights either. However, that might not make for an exciting follow-up story.
Given the immense success of the first “Five Nights at Freddy’s” movie, raking in a staggering $290 million globally, it was inevitable that Universal wouldn’t let go of this lucrative franchise, especially considering its roots in hugely popular video games. As such, additional installments set over five nights at Freddy’s were destined to follow, as long as the audience continued to show interest.
Now it’s time for the sequel, “Five Nights at Freddy’s 2“, similar to its predecessor. Directed by Emma Tammi, this film boasts Josh Hutcherson among its cast, alongside a group of animatronic creatures that are far from scary. Interestingly, Scott Cawthon, the mastermind behind the “Five Nights at Freddy’s” video games, penned both screenplays.
Today, the fresh official trailer for “Five Nights at Freddy’s 2” has been unveiled, hinting at another dose of horror reminiscent of Chuck E. Cheese. Check it out below:

Here is the film’s official synopsis:
It’s been a year since the chilling supernatural event at Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza, and tales of the strange happenings have morphed into a humorous local folklore, leading to the town’s inaugural Fazfest celebration. Mike (Josh Hutcherson), a former security guard, and police officer Vanessa (Elizabeth Lail) have concealed from Mike’s 11-year-old sister Abby (Piper Rubio) the truth about her robot friends’ fate at Freddy’s. However, when Abby secretly visits Freddy, Bonnie, Chica, and Foxy, a chain of dreadful events will unfold, exposing hidden truths about the origins of Freddy’s and releasing an ancient terror that had been locked away for decades.
Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 is scheduled to open in theaters on December 5.
The Best Horror Movies of 2025 So Far
Companion
During a peaceful vacation at a secluded lake house with friends, a young woman named Iris (Sophie Thatcher) unexpectedly uncovers her true identity as an AI companion robot controlled by an app on her boyfriend Josh’s (Jack Quaid) phone. This unique blend of science fiction and horror is both exhilarating and darkly amusing, but shines brightest when Thatcher and Quaid display their most unsettling performances – Thatcher portraying a blood-splattered Iris speaking frantic German to a puzzled police officer, and Quaid transforming into an increasingly ruthless Josh as he loses grip over his robotic girlfriend and adopts an extreme misogynistic stance. Witty, fashionable, and occasionally absurd, Companion is a twisted, unconventional romantic comedy that offers a contemporary, relevant perspective on the Final Girl in an era of technological angst and gender dynamics.
Sinners
It unfolds a gory narrative of violence, liberty, vengeance, and salvation amidst Deep South vampires and blues music imbued with supernatural energy. Innovative and filled with intense action sequences, “Sinners” stirs the soul in multiple ways. This movie boasts electrifying performances from stars like Michael B. Jordan (in a dual role) and Hailee Steinfeld.
Final Destination Bloodlines
The sixth installment of most horror franchises doesn’t improve, but “Final Destination 5: Bloodlines” might be the best yet. This supernatural slasher (if you consider Death as an entity) takes us back to the start, before the first film’s plane crash disaster. A young woman surviving a tragic tower accident in the ’60s triggers a chain of violent deaths for her descendants. The movie includes a short but impactful emotional speech from the late horror icon Tony Todd and a captivating performance from Brec Bassinger as the 1960s version of our not-so-Final Girl. Overall, “Bloodlines” is enjoyable, unpredictable, and creatively gruesome, giving a fresh lease of life to the dormant franchise for a new audience.
The Ugly Stepsister
In this unique blend of comedy and horror, set in Norway, the classic tale of Cinderella is reimagined from an unexpected perspective – that of the so-called ugly stepsisters. Elvira, under her mother’s manipulative influence and fueled by her own growing envy towards her beautiful step-servant, embarks on a harrowing journey of self-transformation through painful and grotesque cosmetic procedures. This dark Medieval tale of body horror offers a grim commentary on societal beauty standards while promoting the empowering message of self-acceptance as the true key to finding happiness.
Presence
A family who relocate to a new dwelling after an upsetting incident seek aid from a medium when their youngest child senses a spectral presence. In Steven Soderbergh’s Presence , the narrative is familiar, but the unique approach of telling it through the viewpoint of a ghost adds a new dimension for viewers to appreciate. Featuring subtle acting and a few unexpected turns, Presence delivers a cold, gradual build-up right from its start, yet unlike its spectral character, it doesn’t wander aimlessly; rather, it maintains a well-structured framework that enables the audience to solve the mystery piece by piece.
Grafted
In the film “Grafted”, a gifted but insecure Chinese science prodigy named Wei, who’s an orphan, endeavors to complete her father’s research in medicine while studying at a university in New Zealand. Despite her intelligence, she struggles with self-doubt due to a facial birthmark, rejection by her popular cousin and peers, and the discrimination she encounters in New Zealand. This struggle intensifies when she makes a groundbreaking scientific discovery with terrifying consequences. As Wei’s life becomes increasingly perilous, she resorts to an extreme measure: wearing the faces of her tormentors as a desperate attempt to belong and reclaim what is rightfully hers. Sasha Rainbow’s first directorial effort, this movie combines elements of dark humor, intelligence, and body horror in a way that’s reminiscent of both “The Substance” and “Face/Off”.
Bring Her Back
The movie ‘Bring Her Back’, a chilling production from the creators of 2023’s horror film ‘Talk to Me’, presents the story of step-siblings Piper and Andy, who are forced to live with their new foster mother Laura following the loss of their parents. As time passes, Laura’s strange actions become more unsettling to Andy. The siblings soon discover that they are in the midst of a disturbing ritual when it’s unveiled that Laura is still mourning the drowning death of her daughter and will go to any lengths to resurrect her. The movie delivers gripping, intense performances, particularly from Billy Barratt as Andy, who portrays a tormented older brother struggling with his own trauma and sense of duty. ‘Bring Her Back’ is an unnerving exploration of creeping terror and sorrow, gradually leading both the teenage characters and viewers towards an unspeakable climax.
